Re: RB951G-2HnD: PPPoE Connection terminating, etc - DNS Cha

It definitely looks like there is a mismatch between your PPPoE client and their server. I can only guess what that might be. If it not doing this during the day, my first guess would be that it is on there end. Some ISPs have a very caviler attitude towards doing maintenance during the night...som...

Re: RB951G-2HnD: PPPoE Connection terminating, etc - DNS Cha

No, it not normal for the PPPoE connection to constantly drop. That is something that you should troubleshoot. I didn't see anything in your config that really stood out as possibly being the culprit. You're ISP may be having problems. If you have a Windows computers, you can set it up as a PPPoE c...

My ISP router is set to bridge mode. Today my son was complaining his PS3 was dropping connection a bit and when I checked I se...

Re: RB951G-2HnD - Firewall Configuration for Remote Access

After thoroughly having read the brief description about what your ISP should deliver in order to make a connection possible I am almost sure that no port forwarding is required on your client-side. The statement only mentiones the possibility that your provider does not limit/filter the required t...

Re: RB951G-2HnD - Firewall Configuration for Remote Access

Since you're NATting, a basic port forwarding will do the trick. This example uses your PPPoE Dialup Interface "eircom-pppoe-out1" and your computer having the IP address 192.168.0.99. Use fixed IP adresses or DHCP fixed mapping to ensure xour computer has the correct IP-Address. IP/Firew...

RB951G-2HND: Can I connect Printer via USB slot?

I just purchased a RB951G-2HND to replace my old D-Link DIR655 and am loving it so far. I am not a network guy but am generally handy with 'techie' stuff and picking things up. I have HP PSC 1510 All In One printer beside the Mikrotik which I normally connect to a laptop via USB cable to print. I am...
