Re: Selecting "out" interfaces?

You can set in and out port for NAT rules, they just have to be in the right chain. Like srcnat you can specify and out-interface but not an in one, and the opposite for dstnat. The packet flow diagram might help you with that. http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Packet_Flow#Diagram You can look into 802...

Re: Selecting "out" interfaces?

You are going to have a very messy setup on your hands then if you want to move forward with it. Also, not to be rude, since the servers, routers, and other network equipment are under support contracts, are you sure you're not violating those contracts by messing around with the network? If the sc...

Re: Selecting "out" interfaces?

A much cleaner, secure, and easier solution would be something along these lines. Also you cannot have the same subnet shared on multiple routed interfaces like you have it listed bellow. 1.) Set up a secondary SSID on all access points, and dedicate that SSID to the students, encrypt it or leave i...

Selecting "out" interfaces?

G'day folks, I hope I'm not asking what has already been explained, but I have been reading all sorts of areas and getting confused with this, so I though it best to ask, I am setting up a hotspot for a school network using an RB450G. The purpose is to account for the student's usage. Now I must emp...

Re: Getting hardware support added to RouterOS

Mikrotik does not have to add support for ADSL for this. Rather than just saying "No", maybe a redirection would be more fruitfull! There is one product currently that I know of, Viking PCI ADSL2+, that I know of that should work perfectly, as it handles all the DSL stuff itself. The OS ju...

Re: Installing RouterOS on a WRAP

Well tried another CF (128) and it boots in 30s, so it looks like it was the CF (which didn't boot in 3 minutes last time I tried).

Everything is fine, but it still comes up with gibberish at the initial login prompt, even though I have set the WRAP to match the MT baud rate.

Thanks everyone.

Just to add something to this. I have inherited a network based on Locustworld and am looking at redoing it in Mikrotik to overcome a few problems and create some consitency with my other networks. I am not sure if it is "normal" but when I tried this on a Wrap 2C, it kept stopping on &quo...
