Re: CCR1036 Kernel Failure (IBM and HP Servers Too)

We're facing the same problem with CCR1036-12G-4S The router was received with ROS 6.2 and we upgraded to 6.4 but the problem remains... Sometimes only the power on/off helps... The log line system,error,critical System rebooted because of kernel failure [admin@WAN_ROUTER] > system routerboard print...

Re: Anyone else see the DNS forwarder crash?

wow! now it happens once per three day :( It happened to us also, but on earlier versions of ROS. We opened ticket with mikrotik support, but after few initial e-mails, never heard from them again on this subject. Our solution was to disable DNS on mikrotik and user external linux server as DNS for...

Re: PHP API bug - read() fails on large replies - this fix OK?

/cancel is because torch is "never ending command"

I'll see what I can do with it... :(

Best regards

Re: PHP API bug - read() fails on large replies - this fix OK?

Thanks. Now I have another problem.... $API->write('/tool/torch',false); $API->write('=interface=<pppoe-user>',false); $API->write('/cancel',false); $API->write('=tag=unendingStory',true); $READ = $API->read(false); $ARRAY = $API->parse_response($READ); Returns... Re: PHP API bug - read() fails on large replies - this fix OK?

Hi there
$API->write('/tool/torch/<pppoe-user>');
returns
Array ( [!trap] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [message] => no such command ) ) )
Is API usable for this operation (torch for pppoe interfaces...)?

Re: RB44G and RB1000 ethernet problems

I have the same problem with RB44G and Telsey Gigabit Media Convertors. Tried every possible combination of Auto Negotiation on/off, fixing interface speed manualy, etc... Tried both straight-through and crossover cables, no luck. Everything works when traffic is under 100 Mbit, when traffic goes ov...

Routerboard 493AH specs

Hello, I have purchased Routerboard 493AH from official Mikrotik reseller, but I have some issues. From specs on routerboard.com site, 493AH should have 128 MB RAM and RouterOS Level5 preinstalled ? Device that arrived to me has 64 MB of RAM and RouterOS Level4 on it, and CPU runs on 300 MHz, so it ...

Hello,
we have acquired several IXP425 boards very cheaply. Since my complete infrastructure is Mikrotik based, I was wondering can Mikrotik work on IXP 425 boards ?

Re: PPPoE + freeradius + PoD Problem

RouterOS doesn't support POD (Packet of Disconnect) the other RADIUS access request packet that performs a similar function as Disconnect Message. Is there any chance to support this option. It is very important and I believe it will be useful Until that day, I need to hack freeRadius with #cat pac...

Routerboard 1000U

Hello, we are planning on purchasing several 1000U routerboards and placing them at our core. We would need them to pass 300-400 mbps routed, firewalled traffic, some 35000 - 40000 pps. What are your experiences with this hardware, can it stand up to this ? Also, how stable is Mikrotik BGP implement...

Eoip through another Eoip

I have a situation that needs one EOIP tunnel to be channeled through another EOIP tunnel. As far as I see it, it should not be a problem, but before I commit to this in production enviroment, I would like to know if somebody can confirm that there would be no problems with that configuration. On ev...

ROS 3.15 - Cannot sort by rule number in IP bindings

Hello, recently I upgraded one of our hotspot gateways to ROS 3.15 from 2.49. After upgrade, when using Winbox, I have lost the ability to sort rules by their number in Hotspot > IP Bindings (hash sign (#) in top left corner of that window is missing.). Because of that, I cannot easily swap places b...

Re: 1000mW mpci

These cards are nowhere near their advertised power level. They work good, but are little more vulnerable to static than most. I had 2 of them go deaf in single storm, while some CM9's and other generic Atheros cards on that same tower survived.

Re: bonding vs NStreme2

Bonding provides failover, Dual Nstreme not.
Dual Nstreme is easier in configuration.
How stable is Dual Nstreme in long distance (30+ km) ptp links with identical equipment on both sides ?
