Cannot connect to Mikrotik using the wireless interface when configured as station

Hello! I have a project going on, where I need to use the router/switch capabilities of the Mikrotik boxes I own with the ethernet interfaces, and I would like to use the wifi interface as the management connection to configure and monitor the routers. I configured my RB962s as stations and I can ge...

Re: VLAN configuration help

Won't vlan92 need an IP address assigned to it for NAT to work? None of the router interfaces have the gateway address on them either. I actually get the IP address assigned via DHCP. I got this working w/o any problem. My main issue with the setup was to get the switching/bridging part of the setu...

Re: VLAN configuration help

I am running routeros 6.9 and some of the commands in your configuration example are a bit different. I think I have covered, but I don't have the masquerading working just yet. One main difference is that my box has two switches, one for the gig ports and one for the fast ethernet ports. I will pos...

Re: VLAN configuration help

Thank you very much for your help on this, reading the configuration on both methodologies gives me a better understanding on how to work with VLANs and the switching feature. Coming from a Cisco background I need to get used to the new way.

VLAN configuration help

Hi, I have the following scenario and I have been having a lot of issues working on the VLAN configuration. I am not sure whether to use switching (I tried using the wiki but with no luck), or bridging (also tried, but lost access to mikrotik on the attempt). Any help wi...

Re: VLAN help

I am having similar issues configuring an RB2011UiAS2HnD. Is there a "clearer" tutorial on how to setup the switching? I have been struggling to understand how to use the switching features vs. the bridge vlan configuration that is shown on the VLAN wiki portion.

Thank you so much!!!!

Re: RB2011 & Switch Chip .1q question

This may be my frustration, but it seems everything on this board gets referred back to the wiki, which is very ambiguous.

Is there not anybody out there that can pose a clear example of how to do VLAN trunk ports, VLAN access ports and put them together?

Re: Cannot connect from ubuntu to Mikrotik RB750GL 5.24 via

I had similar issues, and they were related to the firewall ports. Did you enable all the required ports for PPTP to work on you mikrotik? The rules you need are: TCP-1723 and GRE (protocol 47). I use MSCHAP, that will help with the encryption, CHAP and PAP do not permit traffic to be encrypted. Hop...

Re: DHCP Issues. Anyone?

Please show an export of the IP>DHCP Server. The problem you might be having is the duration of the lease on your dhcp server. Until we see the configuration it is difficult to help. :(

Re: SSH VPN client connect IPsec site

Look at the following tutorial from the wiki: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/SSTP

This will help your clients connect using an SSTP client (windows has one). To the best of my knowledge there is no direct SSL client connection (using Anyconnect) like Cisco.

Re: Split tunnel support for RA VPN?

I discovered that for both OS X and Windows 8/8.1, there is a setting in the VPN connection that allows all the traffic to be sent using the VPN tunnel established. If this option is not used, only the local traffic for the VPN is sent. In my case I wanted all internet traffic to go through the VPN ...

Split tunnel support for RA VPN?

Hi, I would like to replace an ASA5505 due to license limitations with an RB2011UiAS-2HnD, and I need to configure remote access (roadwarrior) clients to access this box from the outside. I got the L2TP/IPSec VPN to work, but now I need to implement split tunneling, so that users can access differen...

Re: PPTP VPN problem with Windows 8/8.1

Thanks ColonelSteveAustin for your suggestion. As I imagined it ended up being Windows 8.1 getting complete misconfigured by Microsoft after I upgraded from Windows 8. Just as a reference for anybody else that has this problem, the WAN Miniport PPTP was the culprit. I had to reinstall it and reset t...

PPTP VPN problem with Windows 8/8.1

Hi, I am having a problem setting up a PPTP VPN connection. I was able to successfully configure and establish a PPTP tunnel between a Windows 7 and a RB2011UiAS, as well as a Mac, but when I try to connect from a Windows 8 or 8.1 client, I get an error code 720 at the window box. I was able to get ...
