Re: capsman dropping

Haven't figured it out,  it will run for a day or two and then just start dropping all the caps and they just go into a repeat cycle trying to rejoin.

hotspot slow

I've got a CCR1072 running hotspot,  but I've had to disable it to keep the internet speeds up.  We've got about 600 connections to it,  and we are getting 400-500MB out the wan with it disabled,  but as soon as I enabled it,  wan drops to 5 over time.  Any ideas or ways to troubleshoot it?  transpa...

aws walled garden

I'm running a hotspot service at a resort but need to add netflix and such to the walled garden whitelist so that the devices can run without having to login.  I've looked around but can't seem to find what to add to the whitelist,  it seems that it could be several hundred entries of AWS servers.  ...

Re: capsman dropping

I have not,  and that's all that I get in the logs.  Just starts saying disconnecting and they all start doing it all at once.  Its like the capsman service is locking up or something.  The only thing I can figure,  and i'm going to start changing some setting on them is that we are using the discov...

Re: NAT Port Forwarding loop

it's because you haven't specified a filter to tell it only wan traffic.  Either put in the in-interface or the dst-address (your public ip).  You also don't really need to the to-ports.  Action should be dst-nat with the to-address set to the internal ip.

capsman dropping

We have a capsman setup with 450 radios.  The problem we have,  is that it works great for awhile,  then all of a sudden all the radios quit broadcasting and go back to channel-scanning.  Not a single one ever finds a channel once this happens.  The only way to get them back is to remove the interfa...

Re: dhcp client

We are actually using mikrotik switches, normally use procurve. Any idea how to setup the isolation? We have the horizon set, but still seems to cause headaches. We have around 5000 users minimum at a time at this location, but we don't mind shutting down a section if needed.

Re: dhcp client

I'm trying to do it by using DHCP clients on each port, and deal with it upon binding.

Re: dhcp client

I need it backwards though, so when a port binds to an IP, that it turns off. So basically, I have a CCR-1072 that currently ends up at 450 952's, and I need the 952's to turn off the port if it detects incoming DHCP. The DHCP server alerts, doesn't always tell me that it detected a rogue, and I sti...

Re: CapsMAN Dual Band

I'm very interested in this as well. We are deploying 450 AC units via CAPS, and have only gotten the 2.4 to work so far. When we add the 5ghz radio, it says that the frequency is invalid on the AP's themselves. Right now we just have wlan2 turned off, so we can at least get it in the field.

dhcp client

I would like to write a script that when an interface binds to an IP, that it disables the port. Is this possible, I'm not sure how to program the trigger for that. It is to prevent people from putting a rogue DHCP server on the network, so I have the ports ready to bind, and turn it off if one of t...

Re: satellite modem

I haven't tried it yet, its actually going to be an experiment on a ship for our telemetry software. its currently on one plugged directly into a dedicated computer onboard, but id like to put it on the router so that it is available to the network as the failover WAN. if all goes well, then we will...

satellite modem

I can't seem to find any information on this, but are any of the PPP USB drivers generic? I'd like to plug the router into my Globalstar modem which just uses generic hayes AT commands. On others systems, its just setup as a generic modem.

Re: random wifi password

Thats an interesting script. Do you think I could do it with a script that could ask a php page and fill in the password. And have that php page query a database.

random wifi password

Is there any way or a script that I can look at that will create a random password for the wifi every week? We have a timeshare building where there is a routerboard in each unit, but they all have their own SSID. We would like them to change the password every week on their own. We thought about us...

PPTP VPN routing problem

So I've got a main mikrotik router using the 192.168.2.x subnet. I've also got two remote offices, one using 192.168.3.x and the other 192.168.11.x. From the main router, I can ping devices on the remote networks. Also, the remote networks are able to see the devices on the 2.x subnet. However, I ca...
