Re: Help a newb with picking the right gear

Go rather by 5GHz. If they are lite versions with level 3 license, you can join only one to one device. To get more clients connected to one Ap you have to have level 4 licence on the Ap side.
Thanks. I should be able to connect two SXT 5AC's up to one SXT SA5 AC correct?

Help a newb with picking the right gear

Hello, I am not much of an expert on wireless, although I have set up SXT's and created PTP links before. I have a client that is wanting to have a couple guard stations be able to access internet. They're home building contains their switch, and there are 2 separate building not far from the home b...

Winbox automatically connect with IP/password?

Hello, I'm wondering if it's possible to run Winbox and automatically have it prefill the address field and password, using the CMD prompt in Windows. We use a database software to keep track of devices, and we would like to be able to start the session, and automatically have Winbox open up with as...

Re: RB750 interfaces not linking

Have you try connect with this routerboard via Winbox?

Have you disabled the firewall on you r PC or laptop?
Yes, I setup many of these with the same computer.

RB750 interfaces not linking

I have a new RB750 that upon boot will flash all LED's on the interface section, blink #1 briefly (as that's the only connection plugged in), and then blink off. I've tried holding the reset button down while power it up, the ACT light will blink, and then I release, but none of the lights will ever...

Have you tried my suggestion?

Re: Can't access other subnets on /22 network through PPTP

Where is the rest of the 192.168.0.0/22 subnet? Is it on your local LAN or is it broken up and spread out across a wide network with multiple routers? If the IP address of your "LAN" is 192.168.0.1/22, you probably need to enable proxy arp on the same interface which has that IP address. ...

Can't access other subnets on /22 network through PPTP

I have a 192.168.0.0/22 network set up, I also have a PPTP connection I use to work on their stuff remotely, however I can't access anything on 192.168.1.x or 192.168.2.x or 192.168.3.x. I'm trying to work on their phone system which is on 192.168.1.25, can't ping from my machine. /ppp secret 0 name...

This is what I have so far. I don't know what I'm doing for this kind of setup.

Re: 2nd WAN line only for phone system

Use firewall/mangle to mark your packets related to the sip traffic (either source IP, either traffic type UDP 5060, either destination server.. depends on your environment) Then assign a different route for your SIP traffic Example can be found there : http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Per-Traffic_Loa...

2nd WAN line only for phone system

I'd like to set up a separate DSL line for only the phone system. Currently they use a coax provider and it's terrible. What should I do as far as setting up for a MikroTik RB2011? I have IP passthrough going on the DSL modem, and the MikroTik is set up to receive a public IP address via DHCP client...

Re: Supernetted network, can't access devices on PC's

Can you ping the router when connected with vpn? What does your computer show when you try to traceroute to the phone and to the router? Have you setup /23 network on both sides? If I am on a 192.168.1.x address, I cannot ping the router, only the phone system, with tracert, Tracing route to 192.16...

Re: Supernetted network, can't access devices on PC's

No luck. It seems my phone system on 192.168.1.25 can ping a 192.168.0.x address. I really have a hunch it's the PPTP connection not working right.

Supernetted network, can't access devices on PC's

I have a network 192.168.0.0/23 set up and have a phone system running on 192.168.1.25. I can ping the phone system from the router, but not from my machine which I am currently VPN'd (PPTP) in on using 192.168.0.48.

Any ideas?

Re: VoIP QoS not working correctly

Are you hitting 100% CPU at these times? It may just be that you are exceeding the limits of the device. If there isn't overhead available there will be issues.
I wouldn't think so with an RB2011.

I can't speak for simple queues, but I use DSCP for my ShoreTel VoIP system and it works perfectly.
Can you post an example? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

VoIP QoS not working correctly

We have a queue tree set up to prioritize traffic coming from our PBX, however, even if we slam the downstream connection with a steam download, calls will break up pretty bad. Marked the connection and packets in the firewall. Are we doing this right? Screenshot in link below. http://1drv.ms/1n7IXbU

wireless problems (deauth, group key timeout, data loss)

Hello. It seems every wireless MikroTik we have deployed are all having these wireless messages in the log. I have one user who has a site to site VPN and she can only connect wirelessly, but she can't use her software because the link seems to be going in and out. I've attached a picture. It's also...
