X86 bare metal NOT CHR

Is anyone still using X86 bare metal on ROSv6? Seen the weird trick to get x64 support with higher memory support over 2GB (v6.31). Thinking of deploying a new edge router based off bare metal. We prefer the more stable v6 over the v7 and also need BGP convergence time to be as low as possible.

Re: rb433ah interference between mpci cards

Well at least we are getting somewhere. Maybe there is a problem when 2 of MT designed cards are connected on the same backplane. Interesting that a Ubiquity mixed with an MT does not give issues. That is the first comment I have heard so far relating to mixed manufacturers on same backplane. But I...

Re: rb433ah interference between mpci cards

Side by side comparision. I didn't have a RB600 laying around at the moment so i just put two RB433/333 beside each other and did the test again. Bleed over was almost completely gone. Very minimal bleed over at 25db power. If i dropped back to 20db power it was gone compleatly.

Re: rb433ah interference between mpci cards

Now this is 10mhz channels. Now we are able to put two cards on top of each other with full power and not bleed over too much. You could run 3 non overlapping channels at full power 25db or use all 5 if you are running a lower power setting such as 15db.

Re: rb433ah interference between mpci cards

Tests below are all 20mhz channels with different power settings. at full power 25db you could only run two cards if they were on on channels 5745 and 5825 and you woud "get by." Even then they are still seeing each other at -93 on the edges.

I have a spectrum analyzer. I will be hooking it up to the antenna port on a stacked card in a RB433 to see what is visible between the two cards. I will upload pictures. I tested this once before and I can confirm there was significant bleed over.

I see this also,

The problem is not with the Dude v3.4, this problem is on the RouterOS end. Was running fine with ROS v3.15 on all the devices. As soon as we upgrade that device to ROS v3.24 we loose our bitrate's. :(

I've got 3 RB433AH's that are all doing the same thing. Wondering if i might be doing something wrong. They came with 3.23 but I'm trying trying to go back to 3.15. I formated and ran netinstall and installed the "routeros-mipsbe-3.15.npk" package. It appeared to be successful. It prompted...

Here is my network diagram right now. As of right now the PURPLE 900mhz AP's are not there but this is so you can get the idea of what I want to do. Basically I already have a 5ghz infastructure I just want to add the 900mhz for roaming and utilize my backbone already.

1. You'll either need to setup static or dynamic WDS links between the APs. 2. No the clients do not need to be Mikrotik. 3. You will need to put the WDS and WLAN interfaces in an RTSP or HWMP+ bridge. Read about RTSP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanning_tree_protocol and HWMP+ http://wiki.mikroti...
