Re: VPN with Android Mobile to MikroTik RouterOS version 6.1

I'm sorry but as you can tell from all the messages prior to your post, no one seems to be able to make this work and there has been no response from support on this in months. You can post all the questions you like, but there's been no help for anyone here. Worst router ever. Worst support ever.

Re: First time setting up openVPN

I gave up and bought new routers. As I couldn't return the bricks, er, Mikrotik routers I'm using them as access points. I would NEVER suggest the Mikrotik products to anyone.

Re: First time setting up openVPN

I haven't made any progress either. I purchased the Mikrotik routers based on advice from a friend of mine so I've reached out to him for help, but haven't gotten any. I think I flushed my money down the drain on these things. I bought two of them. The other one isn't even out of the box yet. I'm pr...

Re: First time setting up openVPN

Still no success on setting up OpenVPN on this thing. Pretty frustrating to spend so much time trying to do something so routine on other routers. I'm about ready to throw this thing in the trash.

Re: VPN L2TP/IPsec connection works in LAN but not WAN

I gave up and sold the MikroTik stuff. To much time to invest to get things working. I know what you mean. I've invested three days now in trying to get OpenVPN to work on one of their RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN units. I could have done this in a min. or two with my old router. I still have zero success wi...

Did you get your OpenVPN up and running? If you found a guide that actually worked, would you share? I'm struggling with this myself.

Re: VPN L2TP/IPsec connection works in LAN but not WAN

Did you get this solved? I'm new to MikroTik and struggling to get an OpenVPN connection built. You got further than I have but I'm wondering if you ever got it solved, and if so, what was wrong?

Re: VPN with Android Mobile to MikroTik RouterOS version 6.1

Im also looking at implementing a simple VPN for ipad and android access. I have followed a tutorial on PPTP Server but my windows client always gives em an 800 Error? I Will be watching out for a link or something. I wouldn't waste your time setting up a PPTP connection as it's been hacked so badl...

Re: First time setting up openVPN

There's no red plus in the 6-13 release. I used the Add New button and guessed and what I was supposed to do from there. It says there's a Certificate there now but I don't see anything in the Files so I'm not sure it worked. I thought it was supposed to create a .pem file or something. I don't see ...

Re: First time setting up openVPN

If you open your file browser in Winbox, do you see a file created with the .pem extension? There is a file with the .pem extension, two of them actually dated 1 second apart. But since it didn't ask me for any of the information the Wiki said it would, is it valid? I've given it zero input as it n...

First time setting up openVPN

I've never used openVPN before so I was using the guide at http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/OpenVPN_Configuration_Step_by_Step for assistance. However once I got to the point where I enter "certificate create-certificate-request" It then asks for a template (the step-by-step doesn't mention t...

Re: Version 6.5?

Once I did the update to 6-13 the unit worked, including the Quickset. I'm still working on the OpenVPN part. The update got me moving.

Re: System Date and Time Problem

Is this still true in version 6.13? We have to write a script to get the time? I see there's a SNTP Client window but it only seems to want an IP. It won't accept a domain. Is that normal for RouterOS? The IP for pool.ntp.org changes. Seems like it should resolve the domain name rather than require ...

Re: Version 6.5?

Oh I get it. So it's 6.thirteen, or 6-13 instead of 6.13. Got it.

I'll do the upgrade and see if that solves my other problem then. Every time I change the LAN address I can't talk to the unit any longer on any IP range. I'll try after the update.

Version 6.5?

I'm a new user to MikroTik and RouterOS but I'm confused already. When I bootup and log on it says I'm on version 6.5 for my RB2011Uias-2hnd-in unit. When I check for updates however I'm offered 6.1. How can 6.1 be an upgrade for 6.5? And when I look online, it appears 6.9 is the current version, bu...
