How many PPPoE users can MT-RB support?

We are moving from DHCP to PPPoE. Currently we have up to 1000 users per tower subsystem but most are 150 ~ 400 users per tower. We do not use the MT for wireless connections, we only use it for routing. Each tower has a switch for layer 2 and a router for layer 3, OSPF, and DHCP. We need to move to...

We have been running the 2.9.24 code and so far have not seen any more issues with the OSPF and the Cisco 7206.
It looks like the problem with the 532 and Cisco is fixed.
Thank You! :D

Is that with the RB500 series or PC based?
The 230's did not have the same issue and I dont know if the PC based solution did either.
I upgraded one of my 532's last night and so far so good. I will continue to monitor and if it works, I will post to let you know.
Thank You!

What Cisco Router are you connecting to from your MT? How long has your link been stable?
We typically see the link fail within 10 hours of reboot.
Thank you for any information.

We have even seen it from MT-MT but only once.
Latest rev does the same thing.
2.9.12 has been stable on the 532.
We have 2.9.22 on the 230's with no issues.

OSPF Problems with MT / Cisco on RB500

We are currently seeing an issue where the RB500's with 2.9.19 lose OSPF connectivity to Cisco routers. The RB 230's do not have this issue on the same software. OSPF connectivity to other MT routers is good. Only Cisco to MT is affected. Cannot create a supout.rif as this process will reboot the RB...

Thanks for the Note. After further investigation we found that every customer that has had VPN issues has crossed AT&T on the 12.0.0.0 network. The outgoing traffic reaches every time, but the return traffic is lossy. We have escalated this issue to AT&T and hope to have some explanation for...

I agree and accept that it is my responsibility to test software before a roll out. On the other hand when a release appears so soon after another release with IDENTIFIED routing problems it is a safe assumption (one that I will never make again) they have been resolved even though not specifically ...

:? Hmmm. Lets see, I have about 12 RB232's and 3 RB500's. Since 2.9.13 OSPF has been problematic. We upgraded to 2.9.14 to FIX the issues from 13 and our OSPF crashed and any router with more than one ospf partner in our case 9 of them had flapping interfaces and would not form adjacencies and did n...

We see much the same thing. The VPN will connect, then no key transaction and then a disconnect. Only on the 4.6 Cisco client. Same on RB532 and 230's. The older clients seem to work fine. They claim to be using transparent tunneling over UDP. The packet sniffer does not see port 10000 UDP traffic, ...

Cisco VPN not passing through 2.9.12?

We are having an issue with the new Cisco VPN client 4.6.0 not being able to connect through an RB232 or RB532 running 2.9.12. The problem seems to be limited only to this version of the VPN client as other Cisco 4.x.x clients seem to be working just fine. No other VPN issues have been reported yet....

Redirect all outgoing mail to internal server

I am trying to redirect ALL outgoing mail on the network to our internal mail server for spam / virus processing. I think the rule is: chain=dstnat in-interface=AP src-address=xx.xxx.217.0/24 protocol=tcp src-port=1-65535 dst-port=25 action=dst-nat to-addresses=xx.xxx.208.20 to-ports=25 I would like...

Packet Per Second limiting?

We have an issue when a user is infected with a virus that floods the interface with very high pps counts of icmp or udp on the order of 2200+ pps which causes the interface to virtually stop. We can access the router fine, but in order to stop the offending user we need to get to the segment they a...

We use RB230 with Mikrotik 4-port nic and use OSPF. 8) So far we have seen uptimes change from less than 48 hours to 200 hours before needing a reboot. Excuse me, but has anyone else seen a problem with the routerboard OS and memory leakage? we are required to reboot the router every 48 to 96 hours or traffic is affected. OSPF Neighbor relationships

Greetings all, I am new to Mikrotik and am enjoying the features of the routerboard and the OS. We have created a core router using a PC router and the 2.8 software. We also use six RB230's with the 4 port NIC. We have set up OSPF and it seems to run just fine until it comes to neighbor relations. T...
