Perhaps my problem lies with my IP addressing, I know it isn't well and want to revamp it but perhaps it should occur sooner than later. Recommendations are very welcome in this regard :D Here is my current mess: ether1-Fibre (public IP) ether2-DSL 192.168.1.2/24 bridge1-ether6/7/8 192.168.192.250/2...
Please bear with me here and forgive my ignorance, but something hasn't 'clicked' for me yet. I have another MikroTik further down the network with IP 192.168.192.240, I can ping it and have a range of ports being forwarded to it and working well. I have other ports here and there being forwarded to...
I have bind the some users through mac address, users can access the net without any authentication. But many a times when a user try to connect it shows the page to enter username/password. And then i need to disable/enable the user mac in IPBinding to again bypass the user. plz help. I've set thi...
Thank you for your time, I really do appreciate it. I thought that might be the case with in-interface but your 2nd example shows me another way - could I add two or more IP's in one rule though (dst-address=$TARGETIP instead of in-interface)? Port forwarding doesn't work when A is enabled. I haven'...
Ok I suppose either I'm asking questions that nobody knows the answer who has read this post so far or it's something I have to learn/figure out myself. All good and well if it's the latter, as I don't just want the answer handed to me - I prefer to understand it. So I'll ask a different question, p...
Hi, I have dstnat doing my port forwarding but also not ideally, I'm missing something: add action=dst-nat chain=dstnat comment="RDP" dst-port=10000 protocol=tcp to-addresses=192.168.0.100 to-ports=10000 This gets me to my destination but if I use a different IP with the same port it still...
Hi, I have PPPoE connections from Ubiquiti units running through Ubiquiti transparent bridges dialing into a MikroTik and working fine, but if I try dialing from a MikroTik it doesn't connect. I will be going to site again soon to get the error message as I don't recall right now but if I could get ...
Is it possible to increase pppoe client's rate limit if overall traffic usage is low and decrease pppoe client to original set limit when overall traffic usage rises.
Sorry been running around alot lately. Well you are correct, if I disable the address list for mark routing I'm able to connect to the other subnet. The mark routing also poses another problem with my port forwarding, connections are slow and laggy. Is there another way to split traffic based on IP ...
Hi, I want to setup all client connections as PPPoE, all IP based now. I'm configuring 1 client at the moment to get everything working before implementing to all the others. I've got it connected via PPPoE but for some reason it doesn't want to authenticate through Userman. I added a new radius ser...
I currently have my whole backhaul in one subnet, I don't believe this is ideal for the future. I'm also having trouble grasping how to set the same subnet across multiple ethers, I don't see the light. My questions are: Should I rather have each tower in their own subnet? Please advise how to set t...
I got it working: Browsing to the printer from a workstation via explorer > \\192.168.0.100 The printer shows itself as a shared resource, double clicking installs it as a shared printer via the IP and it prints. Changed scanning to IP address of workstation instead of workstation name and it scans....
I implemented a Mikrotik router for hotspot authentication and user bandwidth tracking with userman. The network printer was accessible for workstations to print to and network scanning to workstations worked fine, it doesn't now after installing the Mikrotik. I have set: ip hotspot ip-binding add a...
I looked at Access Manager (accessmanager.in) and Radius Manager (dmasoftlab.com) which look promising, I don't mind paying if I have to as I want it to be stable. Can anyone shed some light on their experience with either (or alternatives) on how well it works and what you're limited to?
I thought it best to post here as I posted similar previously in general and I guess the guys got tired of my naivety ;) My setup: ether1 -> fibre ether2 -> dsl ether4 -> lan - > switch -> towers ether4 -> 192.168.102.102 with DHCP server for internal lan ether4 -> 192.168.192.100 for towers & m...
I'm thinking this: Main RB 0.0.0.0/0 => 172.16.0.1 ether1 172.16.0.2/16 RADIUS Towers - 172.16.1.1 >> Each tower with client connects have a RB with PPPoE Clients - 10.0.0.10 >> Userman allows me to specify an IP per account so instead of having a pool I can assign via Userman and setup rules on mai...
The problem I'm experiencing now are clients complaining about no internet, then they reply soon after saying it's fine again. Log shows peer is not responding and drops the connection then reconnects. I've changed keepalive to 0, 10 and up but no difference. I recently implemented the PPPoE server,...
Thanks, I'll do. What do you suggest with IP's? - RB's in their own range - Antennas in their own range - Clients in their own range or - RB's & antennas in their own range - Clients in their own range RB's will have at least two ether's connected to antennas -> Backbone PtP -> Client Sector
I currently have a single Mikrotik on the main link of the network doing everything including PPPoE server and userman RADIUS, the network is fairly small at this stage. Is it best to rather stick a Mikrotik in at each tower and run as PPPoE servers pointing to the main for RADIUS?
My setup: route 0.0.0.0/0 => 192.168.101.120 (DSL router) ether1 192.168.101.128/16 ether2 192.168.191.1/16 - IP range of towers ether2 192.168.193.1/24 - IP range of PPPoE, PPPoE server on this interface, userman RADIUS masquerade src add 192.168.193.0/24 (I have tried 0.0.0.0/0 and not specifying)...
I put it into production yesterday and DNS now resolves on the board and I didn't change anything, any-case it's up and running. I have config queries for which I'll create a new thread.
Well I didn't expect my thread to take so long to be approved so I gave it another try and still couldn't ping DNS from the board but continued with the setup anyway. Clients are able to resolve and browse fine, the board still can't ping DNS though. Not a train smash but problematic for future poss...
Is there some specific additional setup required for the RB951G-2NhD & RB750GL? I have x86 5.20 in production and they resolve DNS fine but I cannot get these RB's to resolve. I can ping a public IP and have confirmed my DNS addresses with my ISP, I also tried OpenDNS but no go. Am I missing som...
