Re: Port Forward, Routing Mark Issue

Perhaps my problem lies with my IP addressing, I know it isn't well and want to revamp it but perhaps it should occur sooner than later. Recommendations are very welcome in this regard :D Here is my current mess: ether1-Fibre (public IP) ether2-DSL 192.168.1.2/24 bridge1-ether6/7/8 192.168.192.250/2...

Re: Port Forward, Routing Mark Issue

Please bear with me here and forgive my ignorance, but something hasn't 'clicked' for me yet. I have another MikroTik further down the network with IP 192.168.192.240, I can ping it and have a range of ports being forwarded to it and working well. I have other ports here and there being forwarded to...

Re: Port Forward, Routing Mark Issue

Thank you for your time, I really do appreciate it. I thought that might be the case with in-interface but your 2nd example shows me another way - could I add two or more IP's in one rule though (dst-address=$TARGETIP instead of in-interface)? Port forwarding doesn't work when A is enabled. I haven'...

Re: Port Forward, Routing Mark Issue

Ok I suppose either I'm asking questions that nobody knows the answer who has read this post so far or it's something I have to learn/figure out myself. All good and well if it's the latter, as I don't just want the answer handed to me - I prefer to understand it. So I'll ask a different question, p...

Port Forward, Routing Mark Issue

Hi, I have dstnat doing my port forwarding but also not ideally, I'm missing something: add action=dst-nat chain=dstnat comment="RDP" dst-port=10000 protocol=tcp to-addresses=192.168.0.100 to-ports=10000 This gets me to my destination but if I use a different IP with the same port it still...

PPPoE from MikroTik to MikroTik over transparent bridge not working

Hi, I have PPPoE connections from Ubiquiti units running through Ubiquiti transparent bridges dialing into a MikroTik and working fine, but if I try dialing from a MikroTik it doesn't connect. I will be going to site again soon to get the error message as I don't recall right now but if I could get ...

Is it possible to increase pppoe client's rate limit if overall traffic usage is low and decrease pppoe client to original set limit when overall traffic usage rises.

Nevermind, got the manual with it.

Re: PPPoE RADIUS Userman

Mmm yeah I have that, I should then create a masquerade for each IP range?

The problem of me not being able to connect to client equipment is because of mark routing, I have another topic open on that.

Re: Routing assistance required please

Sorry been running around alot lately. Well you are correct, if I disable the address list for mark routing I'm able to connect to the other subnet. The mark routing also poses another problem with my port forwarding, connections are slow and laggy. Is there another way to split traffic based on IP ...

PPPoE RADIUS Userman

Hi, I want to setup all client connections as PPPoE, all IP based now. I'm configuring 1 client at the moment to get everything working before implementing to all the others. I've got it connected via PPPoE but for some reason it doesn't want to authenticate through Userman. I added a new radius ser...

IP & Subnet Advice Required Please

I currently have my whole backhaul in one subnet, I don't believe this is ideal for the future. I'm also having trouble grasping how to set the same subnet across multiple ethers, I don't see the light. My questions are: Should I rather have each tower in their own subnet? Please advise how to set t...

Re: Network Printer not printing or scanning after Mikrotik

I got it working: Browsing to the printer from a workstation via explorer > \\192.168.0.100 The printer shows itself as a shared resource, double clicking installs it as a shared printer via the IP and it prints. Changed scanning to IP address of workstation instead of workstation name and it scans....

Network Printer not printing or scanning after Mikrotik

I have set: ip hotspot ip-binding add a...

Re: RADIUS Opinions

I looked at Access Manager (accessmanager.in) and Radius Manager (dmasoftlab.com) which look promising, I don't mind paying if I have to as I want it to be stable. Can anyone shed some light on their experience with either (or alternatives) on how well it works and what you're limited to?

Re: PPPoE Server Best Practice

The problem I'm experiencing now are clients complaining about no internet, then they reply soon after saying it's fine again. Thanks, I'll do. What do you suggest with IP's? - RB's in their own range - Antennas in their own range - Clients in their own range or - RB's & antennas in their own range - Clients in their own range RB's will have at least two ether's connected to antennas -> Backbone PtP -> Client Sector

PPPoE Server Best Practice

I currently have a single Mikrotik on the main link of the network doing everything including PPPoE server and userman RADIUS, the network is fairly small at this stage. Is it best to rather stick a Mikrotik in at each tower and run as PPPoE servers pointing to the main for RADIUS?
