New users without the need to change password

I created a new user to read the mikrotik configuration that will login with public key authentication with a command like this (I'm on 17.2.1 so I can use the ed25519 keys): /user add name=USERNAME group=read password=PASSWORD /user ssh-keys import public-key-file=pubkey.pub user=USERNAME There are...

Re: Mysterious reset on a CSR112

When the device start to do that, often has flash broken... Ok, that might be an explanation, so maybe I should open an RMA if the device it's in warranty, Is there any way to check the flash health so I can provide some evidence on the ticket? I searched but only found about checking the disks att...

Mysterious reset on a CSR112

We have a lot of CSR112 deployed on field, only authorized technicians have access to the routers. Still one of those routers yesterday cease to work and after checking it's back to de default configuration (no pasword) On the logs there's only a message saying "Starting_defconf_script_" s...

Re: send_pubkey_test: no mutual signature algorithm [SOLVED]

As @eworm mentioned on another thread, from router OS 7.7 the ed25519 keys are supported, from the changelog: That is not true. I did not write that. To date only ed25519 key exchange is supported. Let's hope we will see support for host keys and public key authentication soon. You're right, I miss...

Re: send_pubkey_test: no mutual signature algorithm [SOLVED]

As @eworm mentioned on another thread, from router OS 7.7 the ed25519 keys are supported, from the changelog: *) ssh - added support for Ed25519 key exchange; *) ssh - do not allow SHA1 usage with strong crypto enabled; *) ssh - fixed handling of non standard size RSA keys; So you could create a new...

Re: Control OSPF static redistribution (ROS v6 vs v7)

"redistribute=..." overrides filter decision now so try to unset that. Hi @aleksis, do you know where can I read more about this? Afaik in v6 the out-filter was applied after choosing the redstribute type. So now I should remove the redistribute=connected and create the rules for the rout...

5ht led on hexlite always on without cable

I don't know if I should open an RMA for a hexlite RB750r2 that I'm having a problem with, the issue is that it has the 5th port led always lit and acting as if that it was on the same port I'm already using. I tried the following: Reset with the button Upgrading firmware from 6.46.6 Netbooting to t...

Re: CRS326 with 6.41, best bridge or switch

You should still be able to create multiple switch groups to segment the ports. Could you provide me a link for an example? I followed up to this link , but on that page there is only mention of creating bridges (no switches). My understanding after reading the documentation is that it depends on c...

CRS326 with 6.41, best bridge or switch

I am setting up a couple of CRS326 (routerOS) to connect via 10G connection two esx servers. On the esx systems the jumboframes are enabled, and we are having issues with large packets going through mikrotik, also I would lilke to get a good performance and I have a couple of questions. With version...

Re: Testing 10g equipment?

with at least 2x 10G interfaces
An x86 device with a single 10G wouldn't work? I mean x86 - siteA crs326 passthrough - siteB crs326 as btestserver, to make the roundtrip from site A to B I would need two more10G sfps that I would like to avoid buying at the moment.

Testing 10g equipment?

I bought a couple of CRS326 and wanted to test a 10g path. My original idea was to use the btest in the two switches, one in server mode and one in client, but apparently it's not possible (see here ) because the devices are not powerful enough. Macgaiver suggested me to use CCR, but that's somehing...

Re: CRS326-24G-2S+RM speed test?

Really, are you running Btest from the switch?? You need to run it from 1 x86 to other x86 through the switch. Currently I don't have any 10G capable device other than these two switches, and I specifically (maybe naively) bought those instead of the CSS326 so I could use winbox, and also btest, to...

CRS326-24G-2S+RM speed test?

Hi, just unwrapped two units of CRS326-24G-2S+RM, updated them to 6.39.2 and plugged a couple a 10G sfp+ to test it's capabilities. I fired a btest between them and it seems that I can't get more than 1Gbps. See the image attached. It seems that there's a cap somewhere to 1G, but don't know if it's ...

Why CRS326-24G-2S+RM doesn't show in https://mikrotik.com/products/?

I was looking into the options for a SFP+ enabled switch/router, on the website I found the CSS326-24G-2S+RM, but the CRS326-24G-2S+RM doesn't show up (I didn't even know that it existed) altough I could find a pdf with it's features (see it attached), and that my provider is already selling it. It'...

Getting sfp serial numbers

I am looking into a way retrieve the serial number for the deployes sfp modules I have. So far I have been able to retrieve them via
/interface ethernet monitor sfp10 once
But it shows much more information than the serial. Is there any command to access directly to this data?

Get single attribute

Hi, I've some ssh script that connects to a mikrotik, and I'd like to get the board model, when logged I would do a /system resource print , but that will print also the uptime, version, etc.. I was expecting that /system resource get board-name would work for single attributes, but it does nothing....

Can I disable DES-CBC-SHA cipher?

I just used sslscan to check for the ciphers offered by mikrotik ssl connection. It's mostly fine, being the only non-recommnendec cipher the DES-CBC-SHA, can it be disabled somehow? I have looked into the forum, but I couldn't find anything relevant. There was another user that made the same check ...

Re: Certificates in DER or CER format?

I finally found what was wrong, it was my fault indeed, I was enabling the www-ssl service but I didn't specify the certifcate to use, so it used none as the cipher (don't know if this is a bug or it's done on purpose). It might have picked my cert somehow as it was the only one available, but didn'...

Issues with nvi but not 802.11 nor nestreme on quick bridge

Good morning, We just bought a pair of SextantG antennas to make a PtP link, to make the setup I used the Quick setup funcion of those antennas firmware (6.18), also on 6.19 and 6.20. The issue is that the same configuration has different results depending on the wireless protocol. 802.11 - easy con...

What do the leds on Sextant g 5HPnD mean?

On the Sextant g 5HPnD there are two led stripes, but I can't find an updated manual listing them, on the product page at http://routerboard.com/RBSEXTANTG5HPnD there is only a minimal brochure, but there is no explanation for the leds.
Does anyone know an updated manual?
