Unable to move Dude files to SD Card on CCR

I installed the Dude on my CCR and later learned that it would be better to put on an SD card. I installed the 32GB SD card and formatted it as ext3. I disabled the Dude and was able to change the path for the db and re-enable the Dude, which is running. However, I am unable to move or even copy the...

I am having the same issue but I am using a cable modem with Spectrum as service provider. Bandwidth tests are approximately 100M down 10M up. Plugged computer directly into modem and was able to stream for over 35 minutes without a drop. Behind my RB2011UAS with latest software/firmware I am droppi...

Re: Slingshot APT, RouterOS spying software [SOLVED]

Hi Normis, Thanks for the further explanation... it helps alot. Is there a list that concentrates on security and describes security issues in detail that we can subscribe to? The detail I am referring to is like the detail in your last couple of posts. I, for one, would prefer to leave versions whe...

Mt99 I think your idea is a good one. I am hoping that following a single forum topic on security would allow us to be notified via email in a timely manner.

Re: Slingshot APT, RouterOS spying software [SOLVED]

ChaOss defend it all you want. We will just have to agree to disagree. Mikrotik sells a firewall product in the security space. I buy their product for the fact it is not open source and I just have higher expectations from them than you.

Re: Slingshot APT, RouterOS spying software NOT [SOLVED]

Thanks msatter for the link! I will give it a try. So ChaOs you feel that "www - fixed http server vulnerability" is an appropriate explanation of the severity of this exploit? When I read something like that, my first thought is that I am not using an http server on or off the Mikrotik so...

Re: Slingshot APT, RouterOS spying software [SOLVED]

Hey Mikrotik! Instead of having this "higher than though" attitude toward users that are very concerned about this exploit that could cause very serious damage to people (identity theft, loss of job, etc), how about you APOLOGIZE for this because it is YOUR FAULT and can be considered GROS...

Re: Prevent dropped packets

Thanks Feklar. The documentation you sent is the first I have seen that speaks of rate equalizing (scheduler). I appreciate your time and I will look into this more closely. Hopefully I can find an example or two to work with.

Thanks again!

Re: Prevent dropped packets

All of the queues I have read about talk about dropping packets when they get overloaded. I have also read that this is due to the fact that the Mikrotik does not know what the limitation of the ethernet port is unless you set the transmit and receive limitations. I cannot set them for anything more...

Re: Port forwording for VOIP Adapter

What is the setup you are trying to fix? Do you simply have your ATA behind a Mikrotik going to a provider? If so, you don't need to open up any ports. If your masquerade is working and you have the sip service turned off, make sure your ATA is setup for NAT and it should work fine WITHOUT any ports...

Re: router was rebooted without proper shutdown - RB1100

What is your power supply output? I have experienced this because the power supply was not strong enough even though it was the one supplied with the unit. I suggest a 24v power supply as a quick troubleshooting step.

Re: Port forwording for VOIP Adapter

What about your firewall rules? These are your nat rules but you must accept those ports in the input filter as well.

Re: Routing between multiple RouterBoards without Masquerade

I think your issue is due to the bridge mode. Have you tried turning on proxy-arp?

Prevent dropped packets

I have an RB2011UAS with firmware 3.04 and routeros 5.25 and license level 5 We have 30Mb fiber up and down and we are constantly spiking to max out the download. When this happens, packets are being dropped. I currently have no queues setup and I am thinking I can use a basic queue to stop dropping...
