IPSEC VPN to Amazon AWS VPC (for EC2)

Has anyone managed to get a working configuration to an Amazon VPC? I have tried using the generic settings text file download from Amazon, and using their Cisco ASA example ( http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonVPC/latest/NetworkAdminGuide/Cisco_ASA.html ) to try and write a config - but without succe...

Re: Shared bandwidth between two local subnets

Thanks, I have wrote a config based on yours, but marked packets in mangle using 'src address' instead of 'in interface' and 'dst address' instead of 'out interface' with my subnets. (and using only 1 WAN) It seems to be working, but I am struggling to test bandwidth if just one 1 subnet are using t...

Shared bandwidth between two local subnets

I have 8Mbit symmetric internet connection, I want to share this between two subnets on my router (two subnets represent 2 different business tenants using the internet connection). One subnet should be able to use the full 8Mbit if the other is not using it. If both are downloading big files for ex...

Re: DHCP server decline IP address lease to clients

Sounds like you might have a rogue DHCP server on your network. Thanks for the tip. I used dhcploc.exe (from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=18546) to monitor. Ping the rogue IP from an affected PC, then 'arp -a 192.168.168.1' gave the mac address. I was able to l...

DHCP server decline IP address lease to clients

CCR1036-12G-4S v 6.27 Some local clients on my network no longer get an IP address from our Mikrotik router. This problem first occured last week, and is affecting more and more clients. The only solution I have found is to give them a static IP address. The clients are a mixture of Windows 7 workst...

DHCP mac filtering / mac patterns

Is it possible to apply different DHCP networks (or just DHCP options) based on mac address? For example, all mac addresses starting 00:04:F2 (all our Polycom phones) to pickup a particular set of DHCP options. But all our Gigaset phones starting 7C:2F:80 to pickup a different set of DHCP options. I...

Script needed to send log data by HTTP POST (or GET)

Hi I would like my Mikrotik router to send a HTTP POST/GET to a local webserver every time a "caps, info" event occurs... I would like to send the date time and log message, like... 10:09:13 caps, info 61:77:BA:6E:B3:F3@cap116 connected 10:10:30 caps, info 61:77:BA:6E:B3:F3@cap116 disconnecte...

Re: Separate public IP for Hotspot traffic

WIth help from this post: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52997 I solved the problem.

Removed my masquerade NAT config, and replaced with two 'src-nat' rules for the two IP addresses and private & Hotspot subnets.

Separate public IP for Hotspot traffic

I would like to use the spare IP given to my by my ISP for the guest Hotspot I run. I use an ADSL modem to connect to my ISP, and my Mikrotik connects to the modem using PPPoE. My ISP gives me a /30 (2 usable static IP addresses) 61.xx.yy.176 ISP Gateway Address 61.xx.yy.177 address for router (Mikr...

Re: LEDs on cAP-2n board

I cannot figure out how to do this in WinBox (v3.0beta3) on cAP-2n v6.20.

In 'System > LEDs' there are no LEDs listed. I've added all six (1 to 5, and 'user-led' ) and tried set them to type 'ap cap' - and tried with them enabled and disabled.

Can you share the commands needed to disable them?

LEDs on cAP-2n board

Is it possible to disable the LEDs the cAP-2n ceiling access point?

I know they aren't particularly bright, but for some rooms (such as bedrooms) it would be preferable if they could be turned off.

Thanks

Re: Secure EoIP with IPSEC

Thanks so much!

It was the SA source and destination fields I had wrong in my original config, and not understanding why tunnel mode should be unchecked.

It seems to be working - bytes column is rapidly increased in 'IPsec > Installed SAs' as I send traffic.

Many thanks!

I have solved my own problem. It looks like Ether5 was part of a master port group on the default configuration.

PPPoE working fine now :)

PPPOE problems

I have setup a RB750UP with an ADSL modem to connect to my ISP using PPPOE. The ADSL modem was previously working in the same way with a Watchguard Firebox. [admin@MikroTik] /interface pppoe-client> print detail Flags: X - disabled, R - running 0 name="pppoe-out1" max-mtu=1480 max-mru=1480...
