Slow SSL handshake on hotspot ? Not enough processing power? (RB 750)

Hi guys, we are setting up a hotspot with HTTPS login page using Mikrotik RB 750. We got the SSL certificate working, but sometimes it takes too long to do the SSL handshake before opening the login page. On the screenshot I got it on 8 sec, but sometimes it goes up to 30 sec. Sounds like a typical "MAC-auth"-scenario, in which the MAC of the WiFi device is used for AAA. This can be done using plain freeradius on a server; also to take care of bandwidth-control and volume limits. Just searched around here on the forum (serach for mac-auth); looks like MTs hotsp...

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.
We got it working without RADIUS, all users go trough single username/password, and we are planing to integrate radius as well.
