I own: RB4011iGS+5HACQ2HnD (primary router in the wiring closet with both 2.4 and 5 Ghz wifi services) RB2011UAS-2hND - Used as a bridge upstairs with a CAP2nd connected via the POE port. Resolved - CApsman -no supported channel

I have been trying to add a cap2N to my network - The last time I did this on my RB2011 it was easy and fast - I followed this tutorial - I thought it was really an excellent tutorial to be honest - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGFKfyzHnsM Then I purchased the RB4011 with both 2.4 and 5Ghz AP's -...

I am trying to trying to make your changes.... but things are not going to plan here ... you will note that at the start of this post while following the tutorial that I mentioned the lack of an option to use a master port to switch all the ports to ? Maybe this was my mistake ? I can see a check bo...

Re: BIUG ??????????? Set eth3 MTU to 1491 = Random DNS failures

my desktop is connected to eth3. I was using the DNS feature within Routerboard. I tried 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and also the primary and secondary for my ISP and then all 4. These all work without issue when the MTU is at 1500 but when I downgrade to 1491 - I get random DNS weirdness. I also tried to creat...

BUG ??????????? Set eth3 MTU to 1491 = Random DNS failures

In an attempt to see if a game server was having a hard time with the MTU settings on the default 6.41 rev of ROuterboard I reduced one interface (eth3) to 1491. Once that was done every device on the lan was experiencing random DNS issues. Some SSL sites would not resolve and others were so slow th...

Re: Canonly log onto the cap2n on a 192.168.0.X subnet

Resolved - the root cause was not the Cap2n but rather a dead POE port - the port was supplying power but no ethernet... :( I am back on line with the POE injector and another port on my RB2011. ITs not as elegant as a single POE line but its functioning. Note that I used a fairly long cable on this...

Canonly log onto the cap2n on a 192.168.0.X subnet

Today I had some power issues and noticed the wireless devices were all offline. In the past if I rebooted a device by unplugging t...

Re: Capsman - what SSID's should I see ?

looks like my only issue with this after a few days of testing is that the remote cap2n loses connection to Capsman after it reboots. I have to go into Wirelss/Cap/ disable (apply) and then enable to get it back online.

I have recently setup capsman. It seems to work perfectly until I reboot the cap and then the cap is never detected again. I can resolve this by logging into the cap and disabling the Capsman feature and then renabling it. Then the cap is seen by Capsman and I can log on fine. However, we get some o...

thanks for the fast reply! - OK so it looks like I did something wrong in my setup and ill restore and try a different tutorial. All I really want is two AP's one upstairs (a cap2n) and one downstairs - the RB2011 - if you have a reference tutorial I would be interested in checking it out.

When you deploy Capsman in say an RB2011 + a cap2n is the main Rb2011 wireles SSID also hidden? I kind of thought that I would see the main Wifi AP SSID and then the CAp2n via Capsman - is that incorrect?
