ERROR: System ID on this CHR has been regenerated multiple times - please create new installation

Hi guys We use many CHR in our core and license at P1 through P10 as needed. We've create a VMM template to deploy CHR HyperV instances with base config in place already. After using the template a few times, we've come up against this message: ERROR: System ID on this CHR has been regenerated multi...

Replicate WCCPv2 behaviour

Hi all We're a long time user of RouterOS on various devices. Everything from ~300 RB941, ~100 RB3011, ~10 CCR-1009 and ~20 CHR on HyperV throughout our core. Absolutely love the devices and we make them do just about everything we could dream up, utilising many of the protocols at various points th...

Re: IEEE 802.1Qbb

And another request....

We're looking to purchase a couple of CRS317-1G-16S+RM devices to handle RDMA for 2 x 4 node Hyper Converged Hyper V Clusters.

Is there any word from MikroTik on this subject?

Or does anyone else have real-world experience using them for this purpose?

Re: GNS3 with CHR 6.43.1

To get somewhere with this, we've successfully upgraded the v6.41.4 instance to v6.43.1 inside GNS3. This was mainly to test that 6.43.1 can indeed run inside GNS3 successfully. It's pretty slow going though across many devices, so I'd still like to get the v6.43.1 image working directly. Any help w...

GNS3 with CHR 6.43.1

Hey guys We're running some GNS3 labs with CHR version 6.41.4 at present with great success. We're about to start a new project and wanted to use the latest stable version 6.43.1. We've added entries into the gns3a file to match the new versions.... "images": [ { "filename": &quo...

Queue tree and Torch oddities

Hey all. We're implementing some queue tree config on a client device and are running into some strange behaviour. The download part of the tree works fine under all tested conditions. However, the upload part of the tree appears to only function when Torch is running within winbox. Yes I know this ...

Re: [SOLVED] Re: eBGP and iBGP config with OSPF for internal [SOLVED]

This is my first flirt with iBGP over OSPF and I'm loving it so far. Thanks for the heads up on update source. Much appreciated. No problem. That's one of those details that just becomes a part of the mental checklist for setting up iBGP. You should use your public AS in the iBGP session as well (I...

[SOLVED] Re: eBGP and iBGP config with OSPF for internal [SOLVED]

The bgp session still fails to establish with the same log entries however. If I move the bgp addresses from the loopback bridge to a physical interface then the session establishes correctly. Best practice is to use loopback for bgp tough, so I'd much rather find a solution. The loopback address i...

Re: eBGP and iBGP config with OSPF for internal [SOLVED]

Don't use a different instance for iBGP. A different instance will have a completely separate table of routes. Thanks for that. I've removed the separate instance and configured both peers to use the same instance. The bgp session still fails to establish with the same log entries however. If I mov...

eBGP and iBGP config with OSPF for internal [SOLVED]

We currently have 6 x CCR 1009 running RouterOS v6.33.3 all of which are configured with OSPF interconnected routing. There are 2 devices (edge1 and edge2) at our edge with provider peers, 2 devices in the middle performing QoS functions, and 2 devices for access (PPPoE aggregaters). OSPF is correct...

Re: RouterOS Virtual Labs

I'm loving the ability to plan our network in my GNS3 lab, kudos for the low throughput x86 version! GNS3 is great, but is currently causing me a few issues with resources. When running, 2 dynamips processes are created and each consumes a full CPU core. I'm running a quad core i5 machine here, whi...
