Re: Wireless not working until reboot

I am having the same issue with the same piece of equipment. I keep hoping the latest update will resolve it but wireless interfaces just stop after a given amount of time/traffic.

USB Modem and RB experience

Just wanted to post this here in case anyone else has difficulty with their USB modem setup. The power light on the modem would show, but no activity and RouterOS would not recognize it no matter what I tried. I went through the guide located on the MikroTik Wiki: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Optio...

Re: Queues Rate limiting?

I was running into the same problem and researched all over trying to figure out why my queues weren't being applied. Finally figured out that I needed to disable the fastTrack connection forward rule in the firewall settings. This is enabled during initial setup, so it might be overlooked. I think...

Re: Queues Rate limiting?

Well after running through all options/troubleshooting, I reset my configuration a few times, reconfigured manually and everything worked as stated in documentation...not sure what to attribute the issues to.

Re: Queues Rate limiting?

taken from other vendor documentation and adapted to routeros terminology this recommendations have worked well for me Traffic Shaping Objectives Traffic shaping operates by measuring and queuing IP packets with respect to a number of configurable parameters. The objectives are: • Applying bandwidt...

Re: Queues Rate limiting?

It does not accumulate traffic even after doing that. I originally only had one rule, the rate limiting, but some documentation stated you should have a parent rule which does not limit any traffic. I did get the upload limiting to work though. The RouterOS documentation seems to be all over the pla...

Re: Queues Rate limiting?

Try setting up a max-limit queue simple add name="Full Speed" target="0.0.0.0/0" parent=none packet-marks="" priority=8/8 queue=default-small/default-small limit-at=0/0 max-limit=5M /5M burst-limit=0/0 burst-threshold=0/0 burst-time=0s/0s If you look at my second rule ...

Queues Rate limiting?

Hey all, I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong or my understanding is off, but I cannot get a Simple Queue to limit bandwidth at all. I have followed the Wiki, read others' tutorials but no matter what, it doesn't seem to work. Rate limiting works spot on if I set it on the port itself but I'd ...

Re: RB2011 Comcast & Surfboard SB6141 WAN Speed

The 2011 should be able to handle up to ~200 Mbps depending on the config. The 6141 should really have not bearing on this, with the exception of what type of service you have with comcast. If you have residential, you will only get 1 IPv4 address, but you can get multiple IPv6 prefixes (limited by...

Re: RB2011 Comcast & Surfboard SB6141 WAN Speed

Should I be getting my full WAN speed after resetting the router defaults and configuring the router using Quick Set or is there more entailed?

I'm asking because at this point I'm not setting any Firewall rules, forwarding etc. until my speed issue is resolved.

RB2011 Comcast & Surfboard SB6141 WAN Speed

Hey all, I just picked up a MikroTik Routerboard RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN. I'm not an IT engineer but I went to school for CS and work in the industry as a programmer/IT/system admin. I swapped out my existing router and installed the RB2011 and noticed I wasn't getting my full WAN download speed. Usually...
