Ok, when I boot the RB1000 with the serial cable connected and HyperTerminal open the only thing I get in the display is:

Probably meaningless I'm guessing. It could be the cable I'm using, I'll be trying to find a proper com1 cable today. The one I have I must use adapters to get it to fit.

Tried a serial cable connection and I get nothing. HyperTerminal says it is connected but it doesn't display anything.

I think the problem has been found, namely the laptop I was using as a test machine. I tried out the test account on two other machines and it works without any problems. Thanks for all the help you offered.

I think I may have found the problem. It looks like the hotspot server may have been the culprit. After disabling it the problem seems to have cleared up.

Would I use the /ip routes menu or would this be done in /routing RIP/OSPF/BGP? I am not familiar with how to set up a route like this. The only routes I have in my MT box right now were created automatically by MT when I set the box up.
