Re: WireGuard Best Practices

Hi everybody :D Thanks all for your answers! We don't need (and don't want for security reasons) to use the Tailscale services. Their only advantage is to be a bridge between two points, what we can perfectly do through MikroTik if there is no NAT from the ISP (dynamic IP issue is fixed with /ip clo...

Re: Wireguard multiple road warriors

Hi, We got this issue when "peers" are in the same network, try to change the /interface wireguard peers > allowed-address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/32 on the router. You can keep your /ip address of the router with a /24 (for example) so devices can communicate together. A working configuration: /i...

WireGuard Best Practices

Hello everyone, This week we played with the WireGuard VPN on the MikroTik v7, and we would like to have a bit of your experience about the "Best Practices" how to do it for road warriors (we have clients with about 40-50 road warriors, other with less than 10). For now, we tested the foll...

MikroTik Home app - Feature request

Hello MikroTik Team,

We tested your new MikroTik Home app for our customers.
The app is excellent for home user: Easy to configure and easy to use, however we would like as a feedback to ask you to add the Kid Control feature. This is a typically home use :-)

Thanks!

Re: Wi-Fi connection disconnect and desapear for a while

Hi everyone, From the time we wrote this post, we investigated deeply how Wi-Fi works, created some labs, etc. We really recommend these 2 videos of Ron Touw, from MUM, we understood our mistakes, fixed our configurations and issue is fixed :-) CAPsMAN WiFi Layer 1 Optimisation Common MikroTik WiFi ...

DHCP client on bridge interface with a VLAN DHCP not working

Hello everyone, We have a strange issue that we didn't find the answer... We have a router (RouterOS 6.47.8) with VLANs and DHCP on each of VLANs, everything works fine (computers, phones, tablets, wired and wireless). However if we connect a second MikroTik device, reset it without configuration, c...

Re: Wi-Fi connection disconnect and desapear for a while

Here is your problem: band=2ghz-onlyn Ok, you made your own problem... Solution is to keep DEFAULT (all modes). Thanks WeWiNet, but can you explain why "only N" can be an issue if all my devices are N compatible and work perfectly at different times (the same devices that loose the Wi-Fi ...

Wi-Fi connection disconnect and desapear for a while

Hello! We have a strange wireless issue that we couldn't find the origin. In some devices (appeared on Linux, Android and iOS so far, we didn't have a feedback of the issue on Windows), the wireless connection is disconnected, and the wireless (AP and virtual AP) disappear from the list of available...

FastTrack in Mangle table?

Hello everyone,

Studying fast track, we could see that in a default configuration FastTrack is on Filter table.
What are the reasons not putting it in mangle table instead to process as soon as possible?

Thanks for your answers!

Include vars in path

Hello everyone, We are making a script to configure our MikroTik's firewalls, but we have an issue including vars within the path. Our firewalls filters are pretty the same for IPv4 and IPv6, only address lists are different. So we don't want to make a script for each and it look an useless if/else ...

Re: CAPsMAN - How to force layer 2?

Nice workaround! This is our solution for now: 1. Add CAPsMAN to discover address 127.0.0.1 (As czolo wrote) /interface wireless cap set caps-man-addresses=127.0.0.1 2. Open Firewall for CAPsMAN /ip firewall filter add chain=output action=accept protocol=udp src-address=127.0.0.1 dst-address=127.0.0...

Re: Winbox3.0 released!

Hello guys, I have a question about WinBox 3.0. In your newsletter 68 , page 7 (last), Section RouterOS v6.33 released , it says: Together with RouterOS v6.33 we have also released the full WinBox 3. New features include separation of all files from RouterOS ( WinBox is now portable ), grouping of s...
