Re: VRRP

OK you are correct the timer is restarted. But it isn't! Because a few seconds later it times out and the node becomes master | In fact, the master down timer is restarted, not cancelled, by each reception of the VRRP message from a higher priority device. So the interface switches from BACKUP to MA...

Re: VRRP

Nothing in the log of the other node besides initial msg about becoming master. Node not reacting messages from the other: /interface bridge add name=bridge1 protocol-mode=none /interface vrrp add interface=bridge1 name=vrrp1 priority=80 /interface vlan add interface=bridge1 name=data vlan-id=100 /i...

VRRP

Can anyone explain this? Just after reboot. Feb/02/2022 02:32:14 vrrp2 now BACKUP, got higher priority 100 from 10.200.1.254 Feb/02/2022 02:32:19 vrrp2 now MASTER, master down timer Surely once VRRP has got a message from a higher priority device it should cancel the timer? Then 12 mins later Feb/02...

Re: DHCP Offering Lease Without Success

Thread been going a long time...

For me, new iPad wouldn't connect with 6.48.3. DHCP server running on bridge. Turned off rstp and this fixed it.

VLAN bridges

I have two subnets A and B, with addresses 10.1.1.X and 10.1.2.X. Router R1 routes between them via eth0 and eth1 and all traffic is untagged. Now I want to have a single VLAN99 that includes some nodes in A and some in B. So I make a bridge with only LANID 99 allowed through it and make eth0 and et...

Re: Wireless link calculator updated

Nice tool - but I don't understand why the power goes up as the required speed goes down. Take 2 SXT sa 3km apart, and at 6Mbps power is 31dbm and for 150Mbp it's 27dbm. Is this the power setting needed at the radio? Not very helpful when we most of us are limited by country EIRP rules. Could we hav...

Re: v6.40rc [release candidate] is released!

Have emailed suppport but cannot set scan-list in /interface wireless to a bespoke value if you set it to eg bandb it actually sets it to bandb;bandb and then the radio stops working.
Can't set it in webfig either. Tools/telnet in webfig also broken.

Using ssh or winbox after setting with webfig

If I set everything up with webfig on a new box and then use winbox or ssh then it doesn't know I have already set it up and I get two choices: zap the entire config or set it to a default I don't want. How can I tell it to leave everything alone? There must be some flag set because winbox doesn't a...

rtsp and bridges with multipoint radios

I was trying to make part of my network resilient using L2 routing. I have point A connected to point B (a PtMP radio) and hence through several hops to Z. A is also connected to PtMP radio C and hence to Z by a different route. I was thinking that this would make a redundant route for A to Z. All c...

Multiple EOIP tunnels

I have a network of around 60 SXTs, and many of them used as routers are set up for convenience to have the 192.168.88.x IP range as their internal addresses. I manage all the SXTs via 192.168.2.X addresses, and winbox neighbour discovery works fine using L2. Now I have three further SXTs that are c...

How to use Quick Set with dual radio?

I have just got a SXT Lite5 ac and it's got a 2.4 radio as well as a 5. Not sure why the 2.4 is useful, but the QuickSet system seems to only setup 2.4, and I can't see how to make it select the other (main) radio.

Any suggestions as to what I'm missing?
