Re: Selective routing with failover in MikroTik - How?

I can accomplish this with a simple mangle rule that changes to i.e. 'BackupRoutingTable' which just has 1 route in it - a default route to the IP address on RouterA's 5ghz interface. Great........ until the 5ghz link fails. RouterB will keep sending VoIP traffic out that interface unless the physi...

1 of the problem I find is that you did not have dns server in your dhcp-server network.

Re: Two mikrotik routers conflict in same network, why???

I am not 100% sure, but I think the problem lies in your wireless bridge.
My second guess is that your wireless bridge is not using Mikrotik devices nor it is configured as wds, this can cause problem if you are bridging on L2.

igmp snooping in routeros

Hi, I've setup a small lab to experiment igmp snooping of bridge in routeros. Here is my simple setup: setup.PNG All devices are CHR v6.48.1, where on 'Switch' I have setup bridge that bridges R1, R2 and R3 together. IGMP snooping on the bridge is enabled. On both R1 and R2, I enabled OSPF (such tha...

Re: Two gataway in same network and return packet nat

rp_filter has nothing to do with multiple gateway hosts, it has to do with multiple network interfaces on a PC (or rather on a router). Which is not the case here, PC communicates with both gateways through single interface. A pretty good description of what rp_filter on linux host does can be foun...

Re: RB 2011iL does not get Gib traffic

I reran the test by replacing pppoe with normal routing but keeping nat.
There is no significant difference in both CPU usage and throughput.
The configuration was for pppoe. For non pppoe, I just disabled pppoe-out1 interface and added static ip and static default route.

Con track was on, doing NAT.
firewall was default rules comes with routeros, I can share the config and rerun the test again later.

Re: Static Router with OSPF Network

Does it work now or not yet?
In case it is still not working, can you do
/ip route print
on both internal and as_router?

Re: RB 2011iL does not get Gib traffic

Hello,
I just took my old rb2011uias from storage, reset it, added pppoe client.
Attached is the result running simple iperf3, could be unrealistic test case, but I think this is 'best case' scenario?

Re: RB 2011iL does not get Gib traffic

I am seeing that in your configuration that your ether1,2 and 3 set to 100mbps.
Can you confirm if this is the cause of not getting more than 100mbps?

Re: Static Router with OSPF Network

Ok, Thanks :) Looking at your network diagram, I couldn't tell what is your public subnet, and which router you are referring to in this case, I am assuming that: 1. your public subnet is 172.16.0.0/24 (I know this is not public range, but it shouldn't matter) 2. we are working on router_3, since t...

Re: OSPF area NSSA LSA type 7 to type 5

I just reproduced this too in my lab. If you change the NSSA area to default, the lsa seems to be flooded correctly. At this point if you change the area back to NSSA things work correctly. HOWEVER if you now change the RIP network to other prefix, the old prefix will continue to be flooded. Maybe t...

Re: Static Router with OSPF Network

Not sure if I follow your setup. But since you already have ospf, is there a reason why you don't want to let ospf does its job? IE have the bgp router advertise default route (0.0.0.0/0) and each of the internal advertise its <public subnet>? This way you don't have to keep adding static route ever...

Re: Two mikrotik routers conflict in same network, why???

Without looking too much into your configuration, the issue you are describing sounds like stp, try setting protocol-mode to none at 2011.

Re: Port forwarding - l2tp client to server - Problems

Not too sure how you conclude that the vpn is working. Pinging from PC attached to M1 to M2 (when the vpn tunnel is up) should be possible. I am not sure about if pinging device behind M2 will work, even you get ping replies, it could be the reply is coming from device connected to M1. I think you n...

Re: Port forwarding - l2tp client to server - Problems

Hi,

Not too sure what is the requirement of your 'software'. Looking at your configuration it seems like you are trying to achieve L2 bridging over L2TP.
Have a look at this https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:B ... _bridging)

Hope this helps.

How to use acl?

Hi,

I am just wondering is it possible to use the ACL feature in swos to change the vlan-id by mac address?

Example:
Port1: vlan 10,20
Port2: default 20 for all, but certain mac address I would like it to be part of vlan 10.

Is this configuration possible?
And how can I configure it?

Thanks!

couldn't register at account server?

Hi, I've been trying to register an account at the account server, https://www.mikrotik.com/client/ After filling in all the things, it says 'we have sent instruction to your email' (or something similar), but I don't get any email. I really liked routeros and had several RB951G and it works perfect...
