This has been a very long thread. Please update us with your new antennas. I am sitting on the edge of my chair waiting to see a resolution... In my experience, fixing a very difficult problem will teach you more than you ever expected to learn. That is the saving grace of these kinds of problems. E...

Re: Wifi cards keep blowing

Have you tried to check for continuity on the omni's from the center pin to the outer shell? I am willing to bet that your 12dB omni is an open instead of a DC grounded antenna. I see someone is requesting a picture. I will try and get one of the modified T connector to make this clearer. What is ha...

Re: Wifi cards keep blowing

This is a continuing problem with omni antennas that are NOT DC grounded. Many are not. To test yours, take an OHM meter and measure from the center conductor of the antenna connector to the outer conductor. It should read almost 0 ohms. If it does NOT show any reading then it is NOT DC grounded and...

Re: LIST of OMNI's That wont kill your radios

Set the meter to the lowest ohm scale then measure from the antenna connector outer threaded portion to the center conductor pin. It should rea...

Re: Wifi Base-Station near GSM Base-Station

Distance from the GSM Antennas is important. Since their antennas transmit towards the horizon, the best place to be is above or below them as far as you can get. This is where their signal will be weakest. The Metal Box is good, make sure you ground it. I suggest a trial system at first, see if you...

You mentioned you had 13 frequencies. You actually have 3, maybe 4 that are not overlapping each other.
Why not use a 5 gig frequency for the link? Smaller antennas too. Consider circular polarization for the link.

Ufl connectors were designed for use where space is premium, as in a Laptop. In an outdoor environment where space is not so critical and ease of maintenance is most important, the MMCX or SMA is best. I have had NO problems with the MMCX and vote for it and NO diversity switch.

In looking at your graph, is the link up except for the large -80dB + dip or is it dying when the signal drops 10 to 12dB? If it is staying connected with the 10 to 12 or more dB drops in level and only disconnects when the signal goes very low then it looks like it could be interference. The signal...

My solution is less elegant, drill small weep holes in the bottom side to let the air pressure equalize and moisture that may collect, drain out. End of problem. It seems that moist air can always find a way in unless perfectly sealed, air escapes, leaving moisture behind. .
