Re: Switching from "Quick Set" to "Webfig" busts connections [SOLVED]

use winbox as @anav suggest, at least for upload the file... edit and save default skin to remove quick set from menu if you can't, create a file called default.json and copy it under /skin/ on.. winbox... the file must have this content: { 'Quick Set': 0 } I just clicked "Design Skin" an...

Re: Switching from "Quick Set" to "Webfig" busts connections [SOLVED]

Use winbox.......... ;-) This isn't a solution, it merely kicks to ball into the long grass to avoid dealing with the problem. Although I LOVE WinBox, I use a Mac. Previously I used the Winbox version MikroTik recommended with Winebottler and that broke due to OSX changes; that's how I came to star...

Switching from "Quick Set" to "Webfig" busts connections [SOLVED]

This has been driving me bananas for a while, but was hopeful at some point a future release would cure the issue, but the problem persists. When I connect to my RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD 's IP, the default landing page is "Quick Set". Since this is not a sensible default for general admin purpo...

Re: v7.1.2 is released!

Upgrading my RB4011 FROM 6.49.3 TO 7.1.2 using WebFig. However, when I go to "System" > "Packages" > "Check for updates" and I chose "Channel" > "Upgrade" and then "Download & Install", it pukes the following error: " multicast-7.1...

Re: Security Request - IPv6 RA Guard

Sounds like a sensible request.

Cisco offers it as a feature and for good reason:

Re: Internet speed very slow for hotspot users

Please NOTE:

I got told-off by one of the admins of "networkengineering.stackexchange.com" for posting my fix there so I had to repost my fix to:

Re: Internet speed very slow for hotspot users

I had the same issue with painfully slow Browsing. This solution worked for me:

wAP Placement: Affixed to Brick Wall? [SOLVED]

Hi Folks- Went to the MUM in London recently, and the freebie was a wAP. Had this thingy on my desk for a while, but with BBQ season in the offing, decided to actually DO something with it and mount it directly on the house's brick wall. However, my research indicates this might be a bad idea: "...

Re: Tarpit operation question

I don't think these connection are actually established from the router's point of view, which would mean a waste of resources for tracking those connections. They just get an momentarily generated response to induce the zero window behavior and are forgotten. It is exactly what the tarpit tries to...

Tarpit operation question

Hi all- Although I see my tarpit rules are matching, and appear to be working, I have just one little niggle I was hoping somebody could clear-up for me: If a tarpitted connection is a fully established TCP connection like any other with the exception that the window size is dropped to zero making i...
