QoS traffic prioritisation on RB2011

Hi, I've managed to setup an RB2011 with 4 VLANs / DHCP servers. I'm now looking at queues to prioritise certain traffic. I'm following the tutorial here . I've adjusted the bandwidth to reflect my connection (60Mbps symmetrical) and the mangle rules to identify my RTMP traffic instead of VOIP. I've...

Re: Set up AP with VLAN's on an RB2011

Aha, I managed to find the solution viewtopic.php?t=177892#p874953 !

I needed to specifically set the CIDR on the VLAN addresses otherwise it defaults to /32

Re: Set up AP with VLAN's on an RB2011

Of course it doesnt work! ONe Bridge, all vlans, and you WRONGLY configured /interface bridge ports /interface bridge vlans ( totally missing ) Thanks for your help so far, I've having another crack at this today. I've reset the RB2011 to blank / no configuration and I've copied the code you posted...

Re: Set up AP with VLAN's on an RB2011

Thanks for the advice. I've removed the 192.168.88.0/24 subnet which was just left over from the default config and I've created a separate MGMT VLAN. I've also created VLAN bridges so that I could assign ether3 to the MGMT VLAN. However ether3 now has the same problem that it can't access the inter...

Re: Set up AP with VLAN's on an RB2011

I tried adding the LAN to my bridge, which got internet access via the AP's SSID's, but this is circumventing the VLANs and gives me an address in the 192.168.88.0 range.
So could it be still be a firewall issue?

Re: Set up AP with VLAN's on an RB2011

Thanks for the feedback! I'm made those changes in the firewall as suggested, but I'm still not getting internet access via the AP / VLAN's. The ether3 port works though. Also: (1) This router is not in production whilst I am working on it. I am using the WAN interface for administration so that I d...

Set up AP with VLAN's on an RB2011

Hi, I'm trying to set up VLAN's on an RB2011 connected to a Zyxel NWA1123ACv3. So far I've got the VLAN's set up on the ether5 interface and a DHCP server configured for each of them. However none of the AP's SSID's can pass internet. I also cannot ping the VLAN's gateway from the client device conn...

RB2011 behind Virgin Media Superhub

I am trying to configure a Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-RM to work behind a Virgin Media SuperHub with a static IP. Virgin does not allow the static IP to be used on another device, but I believe there are ways around this. I believe I have 2 options. 1) Put the RB2011 in the Superhubs DMZ and assign it an I...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

The only DHCP server running is on the old router and is assigning addresses in the range 10.0.2.100-199 The RB2011 is set to use the address 10.0.2.200, so there should be no other devices using that address. I have just unplugged the RB2011 from the network and tried pinging it from a server that ...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

Another curious thing I have noticed is that I can login to another machine which is connected to both the old router and the RB2011 and from there I can ping the RB2011. So the connection appears to be fine for that machine . The issue seems to be other devices making a connection and maintaining i...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

After being able to ping the RB2011 this morning, I could suddenly no longer ping it when connected to the other router. I thought the issue could be with the port on the RB2011 instead of the switch so I just unplugged the cable from ether5 and plugged it into ether6 and the RB2011 was instantly av...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

It's a unmanaged switch (Netgear JGS524). I have no issues with any other devices on this switch and it is the main hub of our network. I have tried moving the RB2011 to different ports (4, 8, 21, 22) and each time it works fine for a while, and then becomes unresponsive. I have been running the DHC...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

I have tried connecting the router directly to my laptop and it seems to work fine, but I can't leave it plugged in this way. I then tried various different ports on the switch, and they all seem to have similar problems. I have some servers connected with static IP's and they can ping the router OK...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

FWIW my current config looks like this (but with the DHCP server disabled via Winbox): /interface bridge add name=bridge /interface ethernet set [ find default-name=ether1 ] name=WAN1 set [ find default-name=ether2 ] name=WAN2 set [ find default-name=ether3 ] name=WAN3 set [ find default-name=ether4...

Yes I tried entering the MAC address of the client computer but it didn't work. Also, I can't realistically expect guests to know how to do this.

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

Also, some further testing on the original Mac that had trouble: I do get an IP address, but I cannot ping the Mikrotik router at 10.0.2.200. However, when I click 'renew DHCP lease' in Network Preferences on the Mac, the router responds to the ping command still running in the terminal. I get the s...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

It seems there are issues with other computers on the network too. Lots of them (mostly Mac's) can't ping the router's IP, although they receive an IP address. Also a PC on the network can't access the internet. This machine has trouble with DNS servers. I am using Google's servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8....

The issue has returned unfortunately. The same Macbook Pro which couldn't connect before had been working fine until this morning. I just tried to connect via ethernet cable to our switch and the Macbook Pro has the same problem, so it's nothing to do with our Access Point. I then just tried logging in to the router and removing the DHCP lease assigned to the computer. The computer now has an internet connection! However, it st...

Re: 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

So I have changed the Macbook Pro to have a static IP that connects to the old router on the same subnet. 1 computer on LAN can't connect to router/internet

I have almost finished configuring our RB2011UiAS for 2 WAN PCC load balancing and NAT hair-pinning. The last thing I have done is enable the DHCP server and disable the DHCP server on the previous router we were using. All of the devices on our LAN have been able to connect except one, a Macbook Pr...

Re: RB2011UiAS-RM with 6.30.4 OS can't connect to internet

I have now turned off Wi-Fi and the DHCP server and have set the IP address as a default gateway on the RB2011. I now need to set up another SuperHub on...

RB2011UiAS-RM with 6.30.4 OS can't connect to internet

Hi, we have just bought a RB2011 can I am trying to configure it with a Virgin SuperHub 2 (BUS_V2.37.13). I have put the SuperHub in modem only mode, and when I plug the ethernet cable into my laptop I get an IP address from the Virgin DHCP server and can connect to the internet. However, when I plu...
