Re: implementing hotspot

Your question looks confusing. There are two separate things : 1. Is the router capable to handle specific bandwidth and number of users - depends on the services that you run - I prefer for CCR1009 for the number of users mentioned. 2. How to setup hotspot - there are literally thousands of article...

Re: Report and Monitoring

I have used PRTG for latency, cpu, traffic, alerts and notifs and as well as live maps (for dashboards). I utilized the 500 sensor limit very recently, and was thinking to switch to NETXMS, but team and me could not make the switch :) had to upgrade to 1000 sensors. Although, I am not sure if your e...

Re: Hotspot already logged in via and status is Active but just stuck at login page and can't go Internet

Hey Josh, this has happened with me as well before.
Majority of times it was a faulty NIC card which was taking up multiple IP through DHCP or rarely a user who manually entered IP address
I am not sure if it is system fault anyhow, you can enable certain parameters in DHCP (authoritative)

CPU usage by www

Hey guys!
I am running a network with CCR1009 and recently observed change in utilization pattern, such that www service is consuming relatively high CPU
Only thing recently added was PCC and Hotspot with SSL (www-ssl)
what could be the possible reason for the same ?

Re: Download speed issues with 6.44

Hey There!
These upgrades are well tested before they are pushed out. you need to provide specific details around your issues,
Do a point to point testing by connecting to this device directly and checking the throughput (or check directly with the ISP equipment to rule out other issues)

Re: Ruckus R500 not working Mikrotik Hotspot

I hope management and user VLAN are different and accessible. Secondly, the changes that you pushed to Ruckus through management VLAN got implemented (it can get stuck if the AP is not reachable). I would check the VLAN tag on SSID again. There is no specific setting for Ruckus in Mikrotik (check yo...

Re: Log statistics

Check IP->Traffic Flow. You can forward to a collector like PRTG to log and analyze. Following was a recent ppt in MUM : https://mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/LB19/presentation_6352_1548734037.pdf PRTG is not exactly F/OSS, but upto 100 sensors. Or you could forward NAT logs to Graylog (less likely...

Re: DNS Service stops responding

Hey mkx
I've already sent the details(configs, logs, other observations) to mikrotik, why would you assume that its not done ?
The only thing is that the issue is not been able to be replicated yet in their lab, probably

Re: Radius authentication for hotspot

Have you checked that the shared secret is right?
This happens generally when shared secret is not same on both ends(NAS and radius server)

Re: RADIUS server is not responding

Firstly, check the connectivity between the radius server and NAS device.
Next check that you have added the NAS device entry correctly in the radius server and shared secret matches.

Re: Please Help - how to block intervlanrouting

Hey, you can start with a rule such as this, though not the ideal way to handle your scenario:

/ip firewall filter add src-address=172.16.0.0/16 dst-address=172.16.0.0/16 action=drop chain=forward

Above this rule, manually add rules to allow what you want to permit

Re: DNS logging

Firstly, remeber not to include debug, as it will fill the logs,
Secondly, it does tell the src ip address :
dns query from 172.16.94.157: #22433118 www.google.com. A

As the conversation in english has started again!, posting a firewall filter rule that might help
/ip firewall filter
add action=log chain=forward connection-state=new dst-port=80,443 \
in-interface=lan protocol=tcp
Now log the firewall with remote syslog server,

Re: I want recovery the log of Mikrotik

Hey, If you are talking about log of mikrotik such as info, admin login, dhcp, hotspot, debug, etc , just use remote logging and collect in a dedicated log syslog server. This can be configured in System->Actions and System->Logging->Rules.

No traffic on hotspot stats.

Hey Guys, I am using mikrotik for hotspot running on a vrrp interface. vrrp is being used for redundancy. The problem is that because hotspot is running on the virtual vrrp interface and not physical ether interface, the hotspot is not able to get traffic (i.e. rx and tx stats of users). Can you hel...

CCR1009 Memory Leak

Hey Guys! I have a mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ deployed at workplace, whose memory is increasing steadily until only 40-50mb free is left after which the router reboots. The same process is happening again and again and repeats roughly about two times daily. I have attached a screen. Please tell if a...
