Re: Block many websites

I have in mind OpenDNS but i would like first to try a more "mikrotik" solution. The list does not contain very common websites like facebook google etc so most of them have only 1 ip. I will try that and see if it suits me. Btw New and exciting way to block things introduced in latest 6.4...

Re: Advice on routers

The internet service will be free for as long as the client stays at the hotel. I agree with you that internet is like water. "Well" is a situation where mainly smartphones and laptops connect(most of them idling) but when they want to read their email-facebook-news the service is there. T...

Re: Advice on routers

Thank you all for the advice. This is pretty clear to me.

Another question is if anyone has some statistics, how many wireless users can this specific ap(wap ac) handle well.

Re: Question regarding simple queues and max throughput

Hi,

Have you disabled fasttrack connection at Firewall -> Filter Rules?
You need to disable fasttrack in order to have queues.

Re: PtMP 4km Advice

I don't really need 50mbps for me. Behind point B there are some clients(friends) who i would like to share my vdsl with. With this equipment i didn't really wait to achieve 50mbps full but i would at least wait 20-25mbps. Anyway i saw something strange to me yesterday. If i use http://www.speedtest...

Re: PtMP 4km Advice

Radio C will have variable ping and traffic latency when it has to receive A then re-transmit on to B. To improve the performance put another LHG5 at point C for the path A-C. Pings vary also when the links are idle. try getting CCQ above 80%. which  is kinda difficult with basebox and mANT 15s as ...

PtMP 4km Advice

Hello, This is one of my first attempts to "play" wirelessly with mikrotik devices. The target is to send vdsl from point A to point B (50/5). I don't have line of sight from point A to point B so i decided to connect the two points to a 3rd point C. So i installed at point C a basebox  RB...

Re: Probably loop

For the record... someone connected a cheap access point-switch-whatever device at the switch and the packets are coming from this device.

I took the device out and everything is finally smooth.

Thank you anyway
