I'm trying to map a network with NetXMS and it's problematic with locations that have CRS series units. NetXMS is not able to read the Forwarding DataBase, it complains that the FDB is unavailable I'm working with existing switches and don't have a lab unit here, so I can't work out if it's a config...
As far as i'm aware there is no mechanism to 'convert' UDP to TCP or vice versa as they are fundamentally different protocols. For instance there's no sequence numbers in UDP. So let's assume you did the opposite and wanted to go TCP-UDP-TCP well how do you recreate the sequence numbers on the other...
The question was how do I get the NPK files since there's no CHR package to download on the website
As it turns out, the answer is to use the x86 image, copied that over and clicked downgrade and it worked fine
Cheers
I'm testing out The Dude and I need to make the version number the same. Dude server / CHR is currently 6.38.3 and other routers are on 6.38.1, rather than upgrading routers I want to downgrade the CHR to that same version. How can I do it though? I can't see a package for the CHR to download and co...
Is it not a mind thing????? What does it matter wat version number it had. If it is V6xxx or V7xxx? If it is working it is fine. So why is everybody asking for V7. If it can be fixed in V6 of V8 it will be great of is it wrong? It's not a mind thing, there's more to it than just the number itself F...
I have my primary test dude server running as a VM that is directly connected to the network i'm primarily polling, it picks up only a few devices, there are WAY more devices on the network (and yes they can be pinged from the CHR router) This immediately is a huge red flag for me, since if I can't ...
Has anyone tried to power this via USB port on a laptop? Such ports can only provide 500mw but this says 3500mw maximum
I'd like to have one of these in my laptop bag (ideally the normal mAP with its 2 ports to function as a USB powered switch/router)
Nobody? It seems 'The Dude' is actually pretty popular and receives a lot of praise, but nobody knows how to use it? I can only find tidbits of information Clearly i'm also not doing something right with it, i'm running an auto scan on our core network, with the recursive scan option with reliable s...
The Dude is something i've been meaning to look at for a while. I have installed it and had a bit of a play, but I feel I should get some more focus rather than just randomly poking things and seeing what moves or bites back Currently using NetXMS as a monitoring solution, but it's a bit more involv...
Can you explain further though? Because my understanding is you need to define some sort of maximum expected bandwidth to artificially cap the line speed. I've tried using queue trees, leaving the parent as unlimited and setting 2 queue's underneath it. I set the Control traffic queue to 1mbit max l...
Anyone know the best method to send particularly dropbox out a particular interface? Already have fail-over setup and working, I want everything to go by connection 1 by default, but dropbox and a few select services by connection 2. It's easy to do source/destination IP or port number, however I be...
I have a client that is using Mikrotik devices to create a roaming mesh - whereby the actual mikrotik mesh devices will continually roam around along with camera's As a result the throughput of the mesh varies quite a lot. There are 2 types of traffic going through the mesh. One is control traffic f...
We deploy wireless and wired links but use MikroTik routers everywhere. Looking for an idea on what other people use to do bandwidth accounting for users, set speed profiles, provide reports/billing etc. We're currently using Splynx but hitting snags along the way, and their helpdesk is fairly lackl...
I can't find a way to create sub-interfaces on a MikroTik device. I.e. on a cisco device Interface g0/1 no shut Interface g0/1.10 ip address 10.0.10.1 Interface g0/1.20 ip address 10.0.20.1 Interface g0/1.30 ip address 10.0.30.1 Now I know that yes you can assign multiple IP addresses on a MikroTik ...
Isn't that a protocol that RADIUS was/is based on? Wow.... Bit surprised to see a MikroTik employee asking this sort of question Snip from http://www.tacacs.net/docs/TACACS_Advantages.pdf The primary functional difference between RADIUS and TACACS+ is that TACACS+ separates out the Authorization fu...
I'm going to bump this because its quite annoying and inefficient, we move around and are using different computers. Sometimes our office PC, sometimes laptops, sometimes terminal sessions. None of them are synchronized and we have multiple staff constantly asking "What's the password for XYZ&q...
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but i've noticed on our CCR1009 (6.36) that it isn't possible to have both PPTP and L2TP working at the same time I can turn both on and there appears to be no errors, but only 1 of them actually works - whichever was turned on first If I turn PPTP server on, then turn...
Anyone know if its possible to get a dialup noise through the MikroTik speaker?
Might be appropriate for those who go over their quota or don't pay their bills
Where does WinBox store the list of remembered addresses though? If I can simply place that file in a shared location and point WinBox to it, thatll work Or if I cant choose the location I could use a symbolic link in a pinch. At least that way everyone accesses the same file (which hopefully doesn'...
Aside from manually exporting/importing address lists in WinBox (i'm talking about the managed list showing all saved routers before you connect to one) Is there a way to automate the process so that all our technicians can add new clients and they'll show up on everyone elses winbox session when it...
I have multiple ipsec/l2tp sessions to other MikroTik's (i'm using the tunnels for management purposes) Though..... I have pptp also enabled for quick and dirty windows access (couldn't be assed with certificates until I know the direction we're going with it) Doesn't seem to work, it did work perfe...
Seems to be a bug in WinBox I'm not exactly sure what steps would replicate the issue, but I noticed WinBox did not reflect what was shown in the terminal. I would untick IPSec in Winbox but it would remain in effect. I noticed this after just trying to fall back to L2TP alone and it still didn't wo...
I removed all my existing ipsec/l2tp config and put that in, doesn't work. Same messages as above I'm running latest version of routerOS on both Note that the peers are automatically generated, and it always has NAT traversal on. I'm doing this on 2 internet facing routers so they don't need NAT tra...
Apparently the answer is yes but i'm highly skeptical. Since everything i've tried doesn't work. I'm a bit hesitant to post a config because i've tried lots of different variations i've read about and nothing has worked. At present i'm getting "[IP] failed to pre-process ph2 packet" "...
I'm looking at replacing a Cisco router with a MikroTik, problem at the moment is the VPN tunnel that clients need. I've set up how I 'think' it should work on the MikroTik but its just not working... It looks like the IPSec tunnel is up, but I can't ping anything on the other side. I'm not an exper...
