For the ping issue, I added static arp entries for the switches in the RB450G and I have not missed a ping since that time using netwatch.

Don't forget about CTRL-X (Safe Mode feature) for next time, if you screw things up, just power-cycle your Mikrotik and it will be just as it was before you started to mess with it. =)

This Dude server is running only for that purpose on a Dell Poweredge 350 server, 850Mhz P3 CPU w/512M Ram on windows XP.

I have found the best way to align antennas on a long link is to use a compass. You have the GPS co-ordinates, so can work out the azimuth. An inclinometer will give you the correct downtilt. Expand on what hardware you are using. Radios, antennas, tower heights both AGL and AMSL on both sides and frequencies. Also GPS coordinates if you have them.
