PPPoE route issues

Hi, Using RouterOs with both Hotspot and am adding PPPoE service. Have PPPoE configured and working, just that certain websites are not working. If I switch the same PC to hotspot works fine. Re: Hotspot user profiles and freeradius server.

Hi,

Yes it is possible. In the reply from the radius server,(reply attributes) you can specify the rate limits for the clients.

here is what I use:
Ascend-Data-Rate=512000,Ascend-Xmit-Rate=1100000

This limits client to 1Mb download and 512k upload speeds. It works very well.

Re: One for Changeip.com

Hi, No matter what DNS you use, if the dns zone files are not loaded directly from that software, it will always say it is non-auth. That is because it had to go to another DNS to get the zone information. Does it really matter if it answers non-auth? As long as the requesters get the information, e...

Nortel VPN and one to one Nat

Hi, I have a client trieng to connect to a bank via a Nortel VPN client that uses ipsec. I use hotspot set-up for all the clients that are connected through wireless AP. I setup a 1 to 1 nat to a public ip in hopes of bypassing the firewall and letting the connection go through. When the user tries ...

Re: Norlel VPN using IPSec

Hi,

We tried that and it did not work. I was thinking of doning a one-to-one nat on a public IP. If I route all protocols for IPsec to a fixed IP that I will give the client on the LAN and Public IP on the WAN. Any ideas if this will work?

Re: Customer Public IP

Hi,

Do you want to assign on client a public IP or all? For one client the best way to do it is via one to one nat. I am using this and it work perfectly.

YOu can find how to do it in this forum or manual.

Let me know if you need I can get the config.

Norlel VPN using IPSec

Hi, I have a user that needs to connect to a banking application via Nortel VPN, which uses IPsec. I configured the rotuerOs for VPN but that did not work. Basically the client is on wireless hotspot on the MT and has the Nortel VPN/Ipsec client software to connect to the bank on the WAN side of the...

Re: VPN client on LAN side with NAT

Hi,

Can it be that simple? I enable them and will have the client try the VPN.

VPN client on LAN side with NAT

Hi,

I have routerOS with NAT enabled for the LAN clients. What has to bge enabled in order for LAN clients to be able to use VPN on their PC's.
I have seen config for pptp for router to router , but nothing about client VPN to other router.

disabling default page in MT

Hi,

I would like to know if the default page in MT can be disabled. I do not like the fact that users find the gateway address and type into the browser and get to download winbox or try to hack into the MT router.

one to one NAT accessing through Internal network

Hi, I have a server off a wireless link through a MikroTic router. I set-up a one to one nat to acces the server, and that runs great. The problem is that users from other APs on the wireless side cannot reach the server. Tried Nat and firewall rules but no luck. From the wireless client, trace rout...

Thanks for bever getting back to me. :( Anyway I will post the solution in case anyone else runs into this problem. The problem was caused by the transparant proxy. As soon I removed this from profile setting of the hotspot, the hotspot users were able to go to the full speed of the WAN connection. ...

Bandwidth problems with hotspots on more than one router

Hi, I have several router 500 series boards with router os 2.7.40. I have checked and all rate limiting is removed from the default profile and from the profile that is used for the hotspot. When using the hotspot, there is a maximum bandwidth of 8 Mb available to all clients. It gets split between ...

Hi, Upgrade to 2.7.40, removed the current hotspot and all profiles. Ran the setup wizard via winbox. Same problem. I logged instations, and they split the 6mb. No rate limit on any profiles and the default has also no rate limit. Add an IP that bypased the hotspot, and I get 25Mb speed. Tried on an...

Hotspot limiting speed of connection without limits imposed

Hi, I noticed that once you activate a hotspot on a Mikrotik router, there is a 6MB maximum speed limit that get imposed on all clients. I remove the hotspot from the router and I get the maximum speed of the network backbone. I tried this on a second MiktroTik that was not cofigured and got the sam...

Assigning fixed ip or one-to-one NAT

Hi, I am trying to get a server to be accessed behind a Mikrotic 2.9.3. I have a /30 of public IPs available to assign directly or through one-to-one NAT. I have a hotspot configured on Ethernet 2 and Public on Ethernet 1. Hotspot works great. When I try the examples for one-to-one NAT it does not w...
