Re: v6.41.2 [current]

I noticed that starting with v6.41.1 (and v6.41.2) that the routerboard-firmware versioning has changed to match the RouterOS version. This is fine, but with these last two versions, there were firmware updates for my 951G-2HnD and 941-2nD. Problem is that there's no real indication that a firmware ...

Re: WMM power save

Update: On a whim and after reading elsewhere, I disabled bluetooth and that seemed to fix the excessive battery drain while at home, so this recent issue of battery life doesn't necessarily appear to be related to MikroTik.

Re: hAP lite very slow

I've got two hAP lite towers (RB941-2nD-TC) acting as WiFi bridges connecting to a RB951G-2HnD and haven't had any issues with them. Easy to max out the ethernet speeds (tested them as a simple router and got this, too) and as WiFi bridges getting throughput appropriate with the distance and signal ...

Re: WMM power save

I've been fighting fast battery drain on my Nexus 5X the last week or so. I can't completely blame MikroTik as I had been having normal battery life for the last couple months. This is easiest to notice at night - used to be almost a flat line at night, now the battery is using 20-30% over 7-8 hours...

Re: Wifi keeps mobile device awake? [keepalive packets]

No problems here with 6.37.3 on a number of Android devices including two Nexus 5X phones with 7.0. Don't have 7.1 yet.

Last wireless activity resets at 20 seconds.

Last 6.38rc I tested was fine, too.

Re: v6.38rc [release candidate] is released

I had my 951G-2HnD running v6.38rc44 with two 941-2nDs running in station bridge mode. Under moderate wireless traffic, I would occasionally get brief WiFi disconnects - the bridges would report "no beacons received". On the AP 951G-2HnD, it would report a management protection error, but ...

*) routerboot - show log message if router CPU/RAM is overclocked; I just updated to rc44 and the first message after router rebooted is "memory overclocked". This is on a 951G-2HnD. [admin@MikroTik-router] > /system routerboard settings print ;;; Warning: memory overclocked init-delay: 0...

Re: TCP session connection tracking bug?

Based on my testing, v6.38rc24 fixes the issue completely, I can't tell any difference in session tracking with fasttrack on or off now.

Re: v6.38rc [release candidate] is released

The 2nd to last line before rebooting after upgrading from rc15 was:

system, error, critical System rebooted because of kernel failure

Everything seems fine post reboot. Is that normal? RB951G

Re: Wifi keeps mobile device awake? [keepalive packets]

No noticeable difference after turning WMM on and increasing group key update to 1 hour on my RB951G using 6.38rc15.

Have a few Nexus 5x phones, and a few other phones, all good battery life and no excessive battery drain on any.

Re: Wifi keeps mobile device awake? [keepalive packets]

Interesting, I also have a 5X running Nougat and a RB951G-2HnD as an AP/router, but no battery life issues here when I was running 6.37.1 (now running latest 6.38rc). I don't get 3 days out of it, but that's because I use it too much, the screen drains most of the battery. When the phone is not used...

Re: v6.38rc [release candidate] is released

Yes, it should. If that is not working as suspected, then please try without FastTrack. If behavior with and without FastTrack differs, then write to support@mikrotik.com. Send two supout files - one with and one without FastTrack. FastTrack works better in the latest rc in that an idle SSH connect...

Re: TCP session connection tracking bug?

I sent support an email referencing this thread, and they asked if I had any fasttrack rules while also asking for my supout.rif file.

Based on the question, I disabled my fasttrack rule and now it appears that the connection timeouts work as expected on 6.37.1.

Re: TCP session connection tracking bug?

I rolled the RB951G-2HnD router/AP back to 6.34.6 on the bugfix branch and the bug does not seem to exist there, though the behavior is slightly different. Initially the connection timeout will start at 2 days, then it will drop down to around 1 day. Sometimes it will jump back up to around 2 days. ...

Re: TCP session connection tracking bug?

I'm seeing the same issue, RB951G-2HnD running ROS 6.37.1 firmware 3.33. It's acting as a router + AP with the AP bridged with the LAN ports. A Linux machine NATed behind the router (connected via ethernet) SSHes out to a remote machine on the internet. If the SSH connection remains idle long enough...

Looks like it's a problem with the theme.

I've switched to the "SE Square" theme from "Canvas" and now there's an icon that allows you to jump to the first unread post.

Wasn't sure where to put this, so dropping this topic here. In other forums, I like to use the Active Topics link to look at recent / popular topics and then jump to the next unread post. But it doesn't appear that's possible on this forum - when directly viewing a forum you can click on the icon ne...

I ran across this today - it still doesn't appear that it's possible to do this in the latest RouterOS 6.37?

if it helps, I have several hAP's that I use for ethernet bridges. The config is very simple for them.
