Re: ANOTHER Kernel failure when running data on 5ghz wireless n or ac - RB912UAG-2HPnD + R11e-5HacD x 2

I have already writed: R11e-5HacD use too much power on miniPCIe soket for RB912UAG-2HPnD or 912UAG-5HPnD I have exactly same setup and same problem as well on 2 sets. Since this info about not using this card on this RB is not written anywhere, it is Mikrotik fault which should be fixed. Setting o...

Re: Win8 can't connect to RB2011 wifi

I have the same issue with Win8.1 x64 using atheros AR9382 with latest drivers from atheros.cz. This notebook cannot connect to my rb2011uas-2hnd-in using the same security profile as in post above. This is a shame as I have no issue connectin to number of other APs, including some other mikrotik AP...

Re: RB2011 + SFP as swich with dhcp snooping

cannot find DHCP snooping function. You can use filters to block ip and mac addresses you want to. Dhcp snooping is nothing else. Well, can you please provide some hints how to implement full and proper DHCP snooping with ROS? That is, to bind MAC, IP and port in regards to DHCP leases and prevent ...

Any update regarding uRPF? I believe that since it is already part of the linux kernel and that it is regarded as standard for adavnced routers, it should be enabled in RourOS as well

Theres something terribly wrong with your setup, this board has quite powerfull CPU which is able to bridge at least 600MBps without conntrack or QoS using big packets, no way its only 1.5MBps...

Re: RB450G slow throughput

"I find it to be a HUGE oversight on the part of MikroTik/RouterOS that when I enabled switching only (no bridge) I lose visibility of graphing throughput on each port" Ofcourse, its because the switch is HW switch so once you enable it, it doesnt go through the CPU and doesnt slow it down...

Re: ARM based RouterBoard

we won't support ARM, but we have better plans Dont get me wrong, but unless you plan to use that 16-core XEON you were talking about in RB1100 thread, what better low-power CPU than ARM are you going to use in future RBs? Some new PowerPC, like e600? Atom? Atheros AR934x or some new MIPS? Either w...

ARM based RouterBoard

Hello, I just finished reading very long thread about slow CPU in RB1100 on Czech ispforum.cz and then spent about 4 hours reading about ARM CPUs. The result is this: ARM is probably the only future low-power hi-performance CPU architecture. Right now there is Cortex-A9 dual-core CPU running on 2GHz...

Re: routerboard.com says RB450G, RB750G use AR7161. Wiki AR8

According to this page: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Sw ... p_Features , it appears that RB450G has ether1 LAN port independent on the switch chip, which not the case for RB750G. The advantage is higher troughtput from switch (ether2-5) to ether1 port on RB450G in routing or bridging mode.

Re: RB450 Capacitors problem?

Why dont you start using solid state capacitors? Are they that much more expensive? I guess that for router HW, which can be easily in operation for more than 10 years customers would wish to see capacitors that will last that long.

The question shrinked to this: if I am using only policy rounting with connection marking and routes only with routing mark, i.e. no normal default route (all 0/0 routes has some routing mark set), how do I match and mark connections from localhost to internet like ping or VPN? Output in mangle does...

I think that the cheap and good way how to slove this is to buy come offline UPS and connect RB directly to the battery. UPS will make sure the battery is still charged. Or you can buy some big 12V battery (car starter battery) and some good battery charger with storage charge function and you have ...

Re: Maximum possible bandwidth for wireless PtP link

If you need really fast PtP link, plug 4 atheros-based wifi adaptors (CM9 or R52) to some fast machine (> 1.5GHz CPU, not via chipset) on both sides and configure bonding of two nstreme dual links :) if you even use turbo, you get something like 160Mb Full Duplex link :) Use of gigabit NIC is sugges...

My two PCs (K3-500 and celeron 600) can do about 6-7MByte per second on 1.5km line with signal -55dB on CM9 in turbo and nstreme. 6Mb is only with several connections (downloads from linux samba server), one connection can make only about 4MBps. When you hav...
