OS Update downloaded but not upgraded

Thu Oct 05, 2023 12:46 pm

Hey there
I'm using hAP ac^3 V7.10.2.
When trying to do System -> Packages -> Check for updates
Selecting "Stable" I see this:
Screenshot 2023-10-05 124347.png
Selecting "Download & Install" will show that the update is being downloaded, then the router reboots but the version stays the same.
I tried uploading the updates packages manually via packages but still, nothing actually changes after reboot.
any suggestions?

Re: OS Update downloaded but not upgraded  [SOLVED]

I have been having this issue updating many of my routers since 7.9+ to current (7.11.2).

Per the prior reply I checked the log and "can not install lora-7.11.2: iot-7.11.2 is not installed, but is required"
tried to disable and update - Failed
Removed both installs - was updated.

in short current router os does not support lora and iot. While this is minor as nothing mission critical on this site with those services these were selling points for router OS less then a year ago.

This has been a minor but vary annoying issue at over 10 sites I manage on multiple cpu types for mikrotik on almost any update 7.9 to current.

1 I recommend an pop-up message when trying to update and other package does not exist. (perhaps a winbox script that check a text file in the update download if app missing a popup shows saying update file missing)
2 when a project is sunset notifications
3 perhaps a pop up saying why failed at next admin login post an update. - setting default enabled but can be turned off via check box.

Not sure anymore on which version it was changed (7.11rc3 ??) but AFAIK lora is moved into the iot package.
You can add it again manually by dropping iot package on your device and reboot.
