I have a similiar problem, but with Letv x500 smartphone and two tablets Asus ME400C and Chuwi Hi8. Tx Rate only 54Mbps, Rx Rate - 75Mbps-20MHz. Also tried different wifi settings, different router locations, no result(( Technical support couldn't help me to fix this problem.Good afternoon!
Sorry for my english.
For a long time I use MikroTik RB2011UiAS-2HnD, RB951Ui-2HnD, RB751G-2HnD and RB941-2nD. ROS v6.38.5 and v6.39rc72.
Recently purchased a phone Lenovo P2.
I can not understand why Lenovo P2 connects to WiFi at channel speed Tx Rate: 54Mbps, Rx Rate: 150Mbps-40MHz/1S/SGI? That is, the Tx Rate is only 802.11g, and the Rx Rate is 802.11n
Accordingly, the reception speed does not exceed 20 Mbit.
I tried every possible WiFi settings - from reset, to experiments with different parameters in the advanced mode. I tried to play with channels, and with the width of channels, and with the power of the transmitter, etc. Still, more than 54Mbps at the reception there.
And the same phone Lenovo P2 with routers D-Link, TP-Link, Asus, etc. Works fine, at a speed of ~ 60-70 Mbit in both directions.
What could be the reason? Is this some known problem? And will it be eliminated?
Hi Normis,Yes, some low end chinese phones have such issues. I suggest for now to use better phones, since we can't solve this issue quickly. These phones are known to have issues. We have checked this issue, and there is incompatibility with these chips and the RouterOS driver. We can't easily solve it, it will take a lot of time.
i'm not sure about Moto Play, we have only tested this issue with Xiaomi and other chinese brands.
First massage Desember 2015. Is it not "a lot of time"?We need to invest a lot of time to resolve this, it is hard to say when it will happen.
RedMi3 are using Broadcom BCM43341
My chinese phone use MT6630QP wifi chip and i have same issue.Currently we have seen this issue only with this specific broadcom chip, not all of them.
Same problem here w/ my chinese Xperia Z Ultra... 20mbpsThis issue is currently at low priority, we are not actively working on it, since it will require a lot of resources to fix it.
Have you tried 6.40.4?Same problem here w/ my chinese Xperia Z Ultra... 20mbpsThis issue is currently at low priority, we are not actively working on it, since it will require a lot of resources to fix it.
I'm using RB951G 2hnd... my first, maybe the last MK !
Yes, no result(((Have you tried 6.40.4?
This problem is more than one year exactly. This issue is currently at low priority, we are not actively working on it, since it will require a lot of resources to fix it.

Well, you answered your question yourself. Use Mikrotik for routing purposes, and use other brands for WiFi. Unifi, Cisco, Aruba (ok, that is a bit too far fetched with Aruba)....+1000 ...+1.. ..

I have a coupe of MKT devices (SOHO usage, HAP AC,AC Lite , 951G,part of the list is in my signature) but because of all those WiFI issues I start looking for alternatives. So far, it was good decision, I 'm currently using Mikrotik for routing and another vendors for WiFi.
The problem is that in my case single vendor (MT) would be best, but I really need reliable WiFi.
If band steering, air fairness, device compatibility and radio quality (not to mention NV2 and AC scanning complains from the professional users) are not priority for MT, what can we do ?
I had this issue with Intel 8260 yesterday. A driver reset on the Intel side seemed to sort it, and i have since upgraded the drivers, but I think maybe there's something on MT side that needs fixing really.Yes, some low end chinese phones have such issues. Do you have the problem in both bands, 2.4 and also in 5 GHz?I have the same problem with Samsung Galaxy XCOVER 4 and tablet LENOVO YOGA 2
very bad
Of course suggestion is about nothing.currently we don't have clear solution and road map for this fix.
We can suggest to use 20/40mhz-Ce channel width or even use 20MHz channels.
In eC mode extension comes before control, that may disturb correct work on some wireless devices.

Don't think that phones like Samsung S7, Google Nexus 5, HTC One M9 or Sony Xpera Z Ultra are "some low end Chinese phones"Asus Zenfone 3

I fully support this ideaI vote that we make new forum topic with alert to all new buyers informing them that mikrotik does not work correctly in 2.4ghz spectrum.
And with regular bumping we should keep it on top of forum.
In previous your posts, you suggested to buy better phones, now when many users report about this issue not only on cheap phones, you suggest to buy your new devices. Nice work, Mikrotik. This issue is related to the chipset incompatibility between what we use in our devices, and the chip in these phones. There isn't much we can do.
Newer devices, such as hAPac^2 and cAPac do not have this issue anymore.
Do you suggest choosing a phone specifically for the router? Because not all phones work well with your devices. Are you seriously???This means there are two solutions: change phone or change chips in MikroTik devices. Either solution works fine.
If that's true chipset incompatibility, why the physically same MikroTik device with LEDE firmware installed works fine? This issue is related to the chipset incompatibility between what we use in our devices, and the chip in these phones.
He said "Either solution works fine", so you can choose a different phone if you must keep using the RB951, or choose a different AP if you must use a specific incompatible phone.Do you suggest choosing a phone specifically for the router? It sounds strange and absurd, choose a phone for the router, or i something don't understand???He said "Either solution works fine", so you can choose a different phone if you must keep using the RB951, or choose a different AP if you must use a specific incompatible phone.
Why do you think the problem is in hardware? I have info from support - it is software problem. The problem is on the hardware level. To solve it you need to physically desoldering the chipset and replace it with others.
Uldis/Normis: When you do your development and testing on Wifi modes do you validate the signal with a suitable Rhode&Schwartz/Agilent/Anritsu/Keysight/etc spectrum analyser and 802.11 protocol tester at all? It would seem to me such a device would reveal your problem very quickly! It seems to me like you're guessing!Hello,
we will work on this problem but first we need to finetune the new wireless driver for the new hardware and then we would try to implement the fix for the old wireless hardware.
Best regards,
Uldis C.
Apparently, there is a serious flaw in your hardware design process. Here is the screenshot of my wap AC connected devices which shows quite a few devices none of which is low-end Chinese phone, as it was said previously. Especially interesting is the Tx rage of iPhone 6s which is even lower than that of Moto G2.This issue is related to the chipset incompatibility between what we use in our devices, and the chip in these phones. There isn't much we can do.
Newer devices, such as hAPac^2 and cAPac do not have this issue anymore.
Okay, I followed your recommendation and got another issue viewtopic.php?f=2&t=132576This issue is related to the chipset incompatibility between what we use in our devices, and the chip in these phones. There isn't much we can do.

But I'm not sure that Xiaomi Mi Max 2, with the manufacturer's support for MU-MIMO gives out a maximum. If I'm wrong, correct it.
I am pretty interested to know what the fix was. Any chance of a technical summary about what had to get changed?6.43rc3

another good newGood dayYour phone is already working on max rate, this limitation in Your phone hardware.
Once again, a huge thank you to your team!
You fellows!
As for the phone, you were wrong, the limitation was software! With ROOT, it now supports a bandwidth of 40Mhz.
Now everything suits me!!!!!
All the best to your team!
Sorry but it's hard to understand You.Were testing 6.42.1
2G is terrible (10-15mb) unless you use 20/40 (60+)
This is across devices.
Terrible waste of spectrum when all you need is a stable 30m
Most of our customers have our 30 synchronous (3030 i get me hands dirty)
Huge bonus points is you can name the artist
5 or 6 all in an apartment all channel bonding saturates 2G.
Really unsustainable.
