v7.10beta [testing] is released!

RouterOS version 7.10beta has been released on the "v7 testing" channel!

Before an upgrade:
1) Remember to make backup/export files before an upgrade and save them on another storage device;
2) Make sure the device will not lose power during upgrade process;
3) Device has enough free storage space for all RouterOS packages to be downloaded.

What's new in 7.10beta8 (2023-May-22 18:52):

!) ipv6 - fixed DNS server processing by IPv6/ND services (CVE-2023-32154);
!) route - added BFD (CLI only);
*) bgp - allow to filter BGP sessions by AFI;
*) bgp - changed default VPNv4 import distance to iBGP value (200);
*) bgp - do not check route distinguisher on import;
*) bgp - fixed "as-override" and rename to "output.as-override";
*) bgp - fixed "remove-private-as" and rename to "output.remove-private.as";
*) bgp - show address family in advertisements;
*) bgp - show approximate received prefix count by the session;
*) branding - fixed custom logo (introduced in v7.8 );

I reported this bug. FYI Hikvision cameras should be able to use MT router USB as FTP remote storage for recording or recorging motion.

Thank you Mikrotik :) Now I will have to buy another hap AX3 :)

What is ice driver ? I am still waiting for fix for Atheros AR9380 for x86...

endpoint-independent-nat:
ether1 (wan port) has one static IP address to reach modem's WEBUI that is in bridge mode: 192.168.0.2/24
ether1 (wan port) has one dynamic IP address to reach internet via DHCPv4 client: 178.233.176.XX/20

if i disable static IP, endpoint-independent-nat works.. otherwise it will route WAN connections back to 192.168.0.2 address

I can report that IPSec has integrity check failure with DH Group modp3072 and up in Profile.

Hap-AX3 remote CAPsMAN controlled dynamic VLAN addition to bridge does not work still. I need to manually bridge wifi interfaces to correct vlan, and ensure the upstream ethernet port (trunk port) is marked as not hardware offloaded, to get ithe wifi interfaces to pass traffic.

Smart to add this. Too many reports lately from people with AX devices forgetting an important part during manual upgrade.

Can someone elaborate on this? I experienced rekey issues to Cisco devices with PFS enabled, I wonder if this might help...

Please remove the SHITTY 4-modes from logs:

1) only time is just happened,
2) only day if is the same month
3) only month-day if is the same year
4) full date (year-month-day) only if the log is of another year....

LOG MUST HAVE EVERYTIME FULL DATE...

For backward compatibility, this approach with new variable is the only way forward. Old stuff will still work. New stuff can use the new format. Everybody happy.

Sorry, but is better this:

Since the date format is changed also on LOGs, certificates, system scheduler, etc. and WebFig (and on future I hope Winbox)

Better add something like this, that influence all the places where a date can be retrieved [clock / log / certificate, etc.].
/system clock set format=<VALUE>
format can be yyyy-MM-dd or mmm/dd/yyyy, the default is yyyy-MM-dd

Great one, really enjoyed the new design! Also enjoyed the removal (not listed on the changelogs) of the actual RouterOS version on the webfig login screen.

inline comments are still a thing, and that's not a good one :( Please consider reverting to the old style or, at least, give us the option to choose which one to use! The inline comments really blew up the usage experience, specially when using large comments, on not-huge screens!

hAP ax2 - issue with wireless clients (not able to connect to WiFi and receive IP address - viewtopic.php?t=195929, viewtopic.php?t=190902, viewtopic.php?t=191304,...) still persists...

hello dear mikrotik team

could you please allow to specify firewall address list in routing->rules?

fasttrack doesnt work due to mark-routing rules, but we can use routing->rules page, if you add ability to specify dynamic address list for a routing rule.

this will be nice speed improvement for VPN tunnels

Unfortunately, it is not possible, linux kernel does not support address lists in route rules.

but you can write kernel module or user-space program to sync address list into route rules and remove them when address-list entry times out

qsfp28 modules issue still persists on CCR2216
modules flap failed to inizialize, failed to get the link on, or some times get the link but disconnect randomly (very weird behavior)
[SUP-115401] updated about supout with 7.10beta5
modules that works on qsfp2-1 doesn't work on qsfp1-1 and vice versa.

hAP ax2 - issue with wireless clients (not able to connect to WiFi and receive IP address - viewtopic.php?t=195929, viewtopic.php?t=190902, viewtopic.php?t=191304,...) still persists...
Wireless for me now seems stable.
hAP ax3 7.10beta5 (CAPsMAN)+hAP ax2 7.10beta5 (cAP)+hAP ax2 7.10beta5 (cAP), approximately 25 wireless clients connected.

PPPoE Scan in RB5009 works now in 7.10beta5.

Nice that the date format issue is finally being addressed even if the initial implementation creates compatibility issues completely unnecessarily IMO. Seriously Mikrotik, please consider a different implementation.

*) wifiwave2 - fixed dynamic interface adding to bridge on CAP device;
Hap-AX3 remote CAPsMAN controlled dynamic VLAN addition to bridge does not work still. I need to manually bridge wifi interfaces to correct vlan, and ensure the upstream ethernet port (trunk port) is marked as not hardware offloaded, to get ithe wifi interfaces to pass traffic.
For me neither....additionally 7.10Beta5 breaks my AX WLAN completly.
After upgrading my working config from 7.9 stable to 7.10Beta5 the CAPsMAN (CHR without local Wifi interfaces) shows the following error:

and all WLAN´s where unavailable.
Interestingly the 4 radios from the two CAPS were connected ....

Sorry, my proposal is closer to RouterOS language and is easy manageable instead to add parameters to all points where date can be retrieved.

I do like the attempt to clean up/modernize Webfig. I've used Webfig almost exclusively for the past three years because it's 1) universally accessible and 2) I can get to and see all the settings in one place, unlike Winbox, where it takes more effort to see/change information & settings.

Since some of the changes are messing with my muscle-memory and workflow, I'm going to throw out what suggestions I can before things get too cemented into place. (Presuming anybody is listening....)
  • I love the addition of Safe Mode (would have saved me a trip to a site yesterday)
  • Centering the details in the middle of the screen is jarring visually when we've got browser windows open wide to see/monitor the huge amounts of data in the tables and we're generally looking at the left side already (in LTR languages). Also, when quickly moving through settings or information pages (setting up new devices, troubleshooting existing installations, or turning up new BGP sessions), that added distance adds extra mouse travel time (i.e. hand fatigue), as opposed to having the DIV left-aligned.
  • The huge amount of white space (well, gray) below the scrollable DIV in the absence of the OK/Apply/Cancel buttons gives the user the impression that they're at the end of available options. That DIV needs some kind of visual indicators that there's more data/settings hidden behind the invisible block, such as a hairline border around it, or maybe arrows or something.
  • Grouping on the detail page is nice, but adds extra clicks. Perhaps an "expand all" button would be useful here.
  • Comments need to go back above the line they're a part of, or that option should be configurable. I have a lot of multi-word/multi-sentence comments. (They've been multi-line in Winbox forever, why shrink it on the details page and make it harder to see everywhere else?)
  • What is with this trend of removing the software version from the top of the screen? Ubiquiti is doing it too on their radios and I hate having to dig further to determine what release I'm running. I get into dozens of devices per day and am testing a number of software versions across hundreds of devices. That is vital information if I'm either configuring a device, if it needs upgrading, or if I'm troubleshooting known or unknown issues. With Webfig, there's plenty of room where the version used to be. The hostname does not need to take up 75% of the width of my browser window.
Short version of the rant: Please don't hide information that was readily visible before. Or else, make a "pretty" skin and a "utility" skin.

That all said, I'm really excited about everything else in 7.10.

Nope, even disabling WPA3-PSK and Disable PMKID did not help - wlan devices unable to connect and obtain IP from DHCP (using vlans). Still the same issue...

well, maybe it is too early for joy, but looks like WireGuard IPv6 spoke&hub finally working on mmips
it was known problem that only last enabled WG peer will route properly IPv6, others will be lost, but now ...wooow

For some unknown reason for me I expect to see ros v8.0 after v7.9 .. I was excited since from what I see BFD will be available in ros v8.0 .. now I'm disappointed .. no v8.0 no BFD
note: I hope everyone understand this is a ironic joke :) .. however my disappointment for missing BDF is not :(
note2: however I appreciate the hap ax lite ipsec hw offload , thank you!

This forced inline comments on the webfig really discourages the use of comments(which is bad!), as expanding the column to see the comments forces you to scroll horizontally. It might be a good one for big monitors people, but for laptop guys, like me, this is a TERRIBLE change.

Please revert or, at least, have it configurable!

winbox - added "Queues" configuration tab when creating new entries under "IPv6/DHCP-Server" menu;

Any chance to add queue type to winbox or cli ? or even Scripts in IPV6 ?

Yup, upgraded only AX Lite to 7.10b5 and using it as AP for my PC so I can keep an eye on it and I am seeing the infamous PMKSA errors in log.

[mac address]@wifi1 rejected, can't find PMKSA

Also have PingInfoView running on local PC targetting that AX Lite (via wifi), seeing a bit over 4% packet loss.

EDIT: 1hr later, didn't see that error anymore, packet loss dropped to 1.25%.
Startup issues ? Dust needs to settle first ? Who knows ...

The only thing I can find in my configuration of 7.10b5 is QOS simple queues Upstream isn't working as expected. But even better news, switching over to FQ_Codel is working very well. WiFi in general seems a lot more stable.

I like most of the webfig changes (including/especially the inline comments!), but the centered detail screens just strike me as odd, like the pages aren't rending correctly.

Please add reboot command to containers.
Sometime it is required to reboot my container on a regular basis due to some bugs... Could not achieve this by scripting Stop and Start commands of the container...

The problem still exist on v7? I
The hardware already diff with ccr1xxx , the software also already on v7, but the problem still hapen.
I dont think they now and seek what the cause it.
Unless someone can clear reproduce the problem, eventhough alot of people reported having the same issues.

ax2, 7.10rc5 same SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz, default config, same PMKSA error, phone can't connect to 5GHz WiFi, on 2.4 work just fine. Laptop connects to 5 GHz (Preferred band 5GHz in driver)

I hope you open a supoort ticket wit supout.rif before downgrade....

Just out of curiosity, have you tried disabling WPA3?
I am now using WPA2 only (hAp ax3+hAP ax2) and have no PMKSA error.

I don't know, it only happens with some devices using WPA 3.

Yea, but for eg. if I have separated SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz, then I don't have a problem with connecting.

I set my AX200 WiFi card back to "preferred band: None" just to see if now laptop connects to 5 GHz and now it's working like a charm. I will leave my laptop and phone connected to ax2 instead of my U6-Lite.

ax3 standalone 7.9 wifi lasted 7 days. viewtopic.php?t=191304#p1001468

Time to test out 7.10beta5.

• Containers ok (have not tested docker pull)
• Wifi ? (it's only been 10 mins.)
• Zerotier ok

Disabling WPA3 should eliminate PMKSA error, as it is WPA3 related.

WiFi is now stable, no random disconnects, signal is better now, I have full signal upstairs with speed between 573 and 626 Mbps reported by phone. (Concrete floor with metal armature)

I didn't test FT, and it's default configuration but for now it's looking good. Much stable than before, at least for me. I hope that Mikrotik will solve a problem with WPA3

I am not so sure about that.

2GHz SSID with WPA2 and WPA3 which gives me frequent PMKSA errors (as in: multiple times per day I see it appearing in log).
Another 2GHz SSID using both WPA2 and WPA3, slave of first one, no issues.
5GHz SSID with ONLY WPA3, no problems for days.

I hope you open a supoort ticket wit supout.rif before downgrade....
I need to do more testing, that would mean starting fresh from 7.10 and setting up again which I didn't have the time for. I do however have my cAP ax working with Zero issues and i'm pretty impressed so far with that but the firewall is not being used on that device, only on my hAP ax with queues enabled on ether1. I think 7.10 for me and my devices with wpa2/wpa3 enabled just works well. I'm hoping it's just a silly configuration in my config which is causing it.

It's only been 12 hours but so far 1 x "can't find PMKSA" on the 2.4Ghz. No "key handshake timeout."
2.4Ghz is wpa & wpa2. 5Ghz is wpa2 & wpa3.

So I did a little test, same SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz, WPA3 only, no errors, devices connects to 5 GHz no problem. WPA2 and WPA3 PMKSA error and devices connects to 2.4 only

Could VPN traffic cause anything like that to happen with queues, thats the only other thing that might of been running but at the time of testing I didn't see any traffic above a few kb's here and there.

It's all very frustrating isn't it, we have a load of old tat connnecting here with wpa2/wpa3 enabled with zero PMKSA fualts seen since 7.8

It is actually quite common to see issues like this whenever new WiFi standards are introduced and also when they are implemented by AP manufacturers...
I have seen it all on our Unifi system.
It will take some time before the perfect balance between new features and compatibilty is found.
For now, I would not recommend the use of WPA3. (independent from the use of MikroTik WiFi)

The old crap IoT devices in my home are on the slave 2GHz network and show ZERO errors.
So I'm still not sure about that.

Well, it is... But with 7.10rc5 I can see improvements, it's default config for now only, no VLANs for now and no multiple SSIDs so it's looking good for me right now but i think that i will wait a little bit longer until i return ax2 and 3 as AP in my house.

I don't have problems with WPA3 on Ubiquiti AP, i have combo WPA2/3 but then, i only have them for like 2-3 months now.

Also, all IoT devices have their own network, 2GHz and no problem with them on Mikrotik or Ubiquiti. Also is true for my security cameras, own network and SSID 2GHz WPA/WPA2

Unfortunately, I've just had to reboot my hAP ax^2 again because none of my clients could associate anymore ("key handshake timeout"). Seems this issue hasn't been fully resolved yet in 7.10beta5. WPA2 only, so WPA3 compatibility issues are excluded.

I upgraded my ax3 to 7.10beta5 17hrs ago. So far so good. The ax3's v7.9 record is 7 days and a few hrs Mine is 2.4Ghz, wpa & wpa2 and 5Ghz, wpa2 & wpa3.

What kind of devices ? On Ubiquiti only device that was giving me a problem was heating gateway... Everything else works just fine.

We have over 700 devices and not all of them connected. As mentioned, impossible to know which ones.

Exactly the same issue here both on stable 7.9 and 7.10, wifi works for one day then all clients get handshake timeout and I need to reboot to fix it.
Im loosing all faith in mikrotik wireless at this point..

15 May 12:20pm. ax3 7.10beta5 wifi died again. Total wifi uptime: 7 hrs 20 mins. (Had FT turned on. Maybe shouldn't have done that. Back to off.)

May 14: key handshake timeout: 117 (in a space of 40mins), can't find PMKSA: 0
May 15: key handshake timeout: 64 (in a space of 2hrs), can't find PMKSA: 0

As usual, had to reboot.

Mine hAP ax3 resists for now, uptime 2d and 20h.
If it happens again before restarting generate the supout.rif file to send to support.

For what it's worth, I seem to have gotten some WiFi stability by disabling all of my access list rules in WiFi. I had noticed that in 7.8, some of my ACLs just did not apply, when those same rules (for a specific MAC address) worked on CAPsMANv1. When I upgraded to 7.9 and had the issue with not being able to connect, I removed all my ACLs. It seemed to resolve the issue.

Units are cAP ax, CAPsMAN controller is RB5009, all running 7.10beta5 currently.

7.10beta5 - Remote CAPsMAN managed AX3 - Uptime approximately 4 days 10 hours, "invalid password" prompt across Win11 Laptop, iPhone and Samsung phone - again... Rebooting AX3 resolved problem.

Created SUP-116195 with support.rif file whilst it was in its failed state.

The other AX3 (acting as CAPsMAN server) was still working correctly, and moving devices in range of that AX3 resulted in them reconnecting. Moving the devices back in range of the failed AX3 resulted in the invalid password after multiple attempts of it trying to connect... After this testing I created a support.rif file on the failed AX3, and rebooted it. The reboot cleared the problem (for now....).

Waiting on the other AX3 to fail now, I am guessing that is only a matter of time...

Starting with V7.9 the following commands stopped returning the right information:

interface/ethernet/print proplist=speed
interface/ethernet/print proplist=full-duplex

Both commands return "empty" values.

Been meaning to send support an email and supout but keep forgetting to generate it. Gonna do that the next time it dies.

MLAG on 4 CRS326-24S+2Q+ starting from version 7.7 up to 7.10 beta 5 is broken..

On 7.6 everything works fine. The problem seems to start from 7.7, version which makes several changes to the bridges

When editing big scripts, for example, the amount of actual "script space" on 7.10 is greatly reduced while compared to 7.9 and older. Screenshots are editing the same script, on the same monitor/resolution, only changing from 7.9 to 7.10b5. The difference is HUGE, being 7.10 absolutely worst.

Is it the same programmer / "artist" / "GUI expert" who on Windows 11 weighed well to center the taskbar and remove "ungroup" icons?
A damn good choice that prevents me from migrating to Windows 11 for this crap that interferes with productivity...

I am still wondering why the comment is now a column? And I actually wonder and question the decision-process behind this change. This is either some input from some "UX expert" ("streamline the interface and remove that disruptive comment line" )or simply a bad design decision by some newcomer. People may write long comments, that's why this was a really dumb change.

I think it is great! It has always been possible in winbox, and the setting "inline comments" is always the first thing I do when using winbox on a new device.
Probably it would have been better to put comment in the rightmost column just as it is in winbox, instead of in the second column.
What I would like to see is the capability to add/remove/re-order columns in webfig like it is in winbox. (and saved for later visits)

In winbox it was always possible to CHOOSE which one you'd like to use: inline comments or "newline" ones. Having the option to choose which one to use is the key here. It was simply changed to FORCED inline comments on webfig, interface in which you cannot reorder columns.

Would be awesome to have inline comments as an OPTION on webfig.

Are you having an ultra wide display? I did not even know about that option, as I hardly use Winbox. But when I use Winbox every now an then, I use it with at least 6 windows arranged inside the main window. And "inline comments" adds a dramatically huge horizontal scrollbar (when I set the fitting width for comments column, so I can read even long comments). But YMMV. And being able to choose, makes this not worth to start a "inline vs separate line"-war. User's personal choice.

For now, I would not recommend the use of WPA3. (independent from the use of MikroTik WiFi)
For now, I would recommend trying Aruba 5xx APs with WPA3, probably Ruckus no different, same with Ciscrap.

WPA3 is a change in security, not in rf waves, if your client has it implemented as expected and your AP too it just works. Got a few Aruba APs running and if there's something that has been working no matter what it's WPA3.

Unless you have a crap Android phone that doesn't even get those patches anymore.

Or if the implementation of WPA3 sucks on your AP. It's the same story as wether your wifi has a proper WPA2-KRACK counter implementation or not, done properly no issues, done wrong and you will see issues.

That is what I mean. It does not work on all clients, and when your clients are not under your own control (e.g. it is your home wifi) it is difficult to make sure
that it will work. Of course you can use WPA2/WPA3 transition mode, but even that does not guarantee it will always work.

It is like enabling 802.11k/r/v. On most devices it is OK, but some devices will either fail to connect or they will connect once and then fail to roam.
Not a problem when it is your home wifi and you can determine which devices have problems (e.g. your doorbell), not so good when it is an office with company
and visitor devices and you never know who wants to use it.

Some days ago I had my first real problem with a device not being able to connect to a WPA2/WPA3 transition mode enabled SSID. I have already setup that way in several locations, but never had a problem or, at least, nobody ever complained about it. And funny enough, it was an Apple device, a Gen1 Apple TV. It simply refused to even ask the password for the network, giving a -100 error. I really had to "downgrade" the network to WPA2 mode only, and it worked immediately.

From all sort of devices, I would really not expect an Apple device to give me headaches on that matter, while all other chinese cheap crap can use the network with no problems :)

maybe IPv6 is broken.

I use dynv6 to register a dynamic domain name with only IPv6 address . and then try to get a LetsEncrypt centification using:
`/certificate/enable-ssl-certificate dns-name=MYNAME.dynv6.net `

and then get a "resolv error"

switch back to 7.9, it's OK .

Therefore regarding this pcp and dscp thing, could it be possible to fix the long-lasting bug that I could summarize by :

Which MT device do you use ? (for me it's a CRS326-24G-2S+).
Currently, the only approach that works to set 802.1p is to use switch rules, and thus only works for traffic that ingress ports (not for traffic passing through router processes).

Hi,

I have the same problem as SUP-116195. All devices are disconnected and mobile cannot join WiFi it says wrong password after reboot all ok. I did downgrade to 7.9 stable and I had the same situation happened.
I turn off wpa3 but I'm not sure if this will help.

Do you have any advice how to eliminate this problem?

My WiFi needs WiFi working for her home office...

@Rox169, downgrade to 7.8, it’s rock solid for more than 20 days on my side (3 ax2 and 1 ax lite, with capsman).

I'm with @rextended ... /export *ALWAYS* had the current timestamp, so diffing two different exports, done at different times, would always show that difference, despite no other config changes. This always happened and it's really not new on 7.10beta or even RoSv7 at all. Data format indeed changed on 7.10, but the timestamp itself was always there and always different if generated at different times.

This from latest RoSv6 for example:

Is oxidized the problem, not RouterOS...
Instead of skipping the first line comparison, what does the program do?
I have been using "diff" for years and making it skip the first line, however it goes it always works even if the router version or the date and time change...

It was definitive NOT ALWAYS like this.
It's an oxidized problem, so ask on oxidized forum for it to be updated.

I was looking at RouterOS procedures on the oxidizer sources ( https://github.com/ytti/oxidized/blob/m ... outeros.rb ) and to my best regexp knowledge, I couldn't find anywhere it would remove the first (timestamped) line on the /export ... maybe it's done in another place. But I fully agree with you, that's an oxidized problem, not RouterOS one.

EDIT: actually it seems line 48 would be the one that rejects the timestamped line ... that seems the one that needs to be adjusted to match the new timestamp (and the old as well, to keep compatibility with versions <7.10)

It just happened to me too, I only use wpa2.
Supout.rif generated before reboot and sent (SUP-116928), I hope it helps the support.

And of course, you can "fix" the problem with various modifications, but the level of effort required varies depending on its occurrence. People who don't understand the implications of this issue shouldn't comment on the matter IMO.

Well, I believe that you're having me among those "who don't understand the implications" ... and i'd say you're really wrong on that one. Accepting it will happen doesn't means I don't understand it. But that decision is not on me. I would have made it on different ways, but that's really not on me.

And that all being said, seems kind of censorship expecting that only those who agree with you can comment on something, doesn't it ??? Everybody is free to comment, no matter their opinions.

And I still stand by the belief that individuals with a "fixer-upper" attitude (i.e., hacker hero) who lack insight into the implications of large-scale operations should refrain from commenting on that particular matter (in my opinion!)

After only two days the problem with the wifi returns.
No one can log in : wrong password error.

Now I have added a scheduled reboot every 24 hours but, please mikrotik, this bug is really urgent to fix...

It is urgent because the same problem exists also with the stable 7.9.1, there are many discussions about it.

It seemed before there was some combination using WPA3 which triggered this.
I reverted back to 7.8 for quite a while on my AX devices to circumvent this, using only WPA2 just to be sure (no wifi for wifey can be ... "a challenge" at home 🤣).
Now running for 5 days already on AX2 and AX3 using 7.10b5 using both WPA2/WPA3, so far no lockouts seen (which I did have a couple of times on 7.9, so I assume also in 7.9.1).
Which indicates there is something else which triggers it ?

@massinia: send supout to support whenever you see it happening. It's the only way to make them aware and provide them enough info to investigate.

Chicken and egg problem. You need to have the problem to have it investigated but I understand you also want working devices.
Likely not an easy one to catch.

I gave her instruction how to reset the router in case it freeze again :) Be carefull at version 7.10b5 it happen to me here as well and I had the same combination of WPA2/WPA3 allowed.

How many times will it retry? Does this solve our problems with dynamic ips on peers where we need to re-toggle tunnel to fix it after IP change?

Maybe you didn't actually upgrade, since since beta10 do not have "copy" routes anymore and BGP attributes are there for bgp vpn routes.

MT why don't you develop both values (before and after route filtering)???? It could be very nice.

It looks like the BFD actually works fine! Hooray!
Next wish-list item: make the "BGP Sessions" tab in winbox auto-refreshing like the "BGP Peers" tab in version 6.
Right now the information displayed w.r.t. active sessions, prefixes, rx/tx messages and uptime is stale unless you press F5 all the time.
The "uptime" field is misleading as it is always counting up from the moment the tab has been opened, even when the session is not up at all...

Finally, we can pickup where we left off in IX deployment and hope we can use our few dozen of MT gear as supplemental to the existing infrastructure, if only this is available last year we are not in the current predicament right now that we are mixing platform in DC.

@MT please next in your roadmap should be as follows :)
QinQ, VXLAN and MACSEC offload in hardware, Openflow,VPDN and 802.1ah-2008 if this happen MT will be a household name in DC :p

If you refer to "filtered" by routing filters then there is no difference filtered or not filtered, total route count stays the same in both cases. And it does not makes sense to display count of just part of the routes stored in the memory.

Actually we have asked, earlier on this thread and on the 7.9 threads as well, to have the OPTION to choose inline or "newline" comments, just like the winbox has (and always had) the option to choose which one the user prefers.

For those working on big monitors/resolutions, I agree that inline comments might work great. But for the laptop users, like me and A LOT of others, the inline comments are really bad. We even had people reporting that manages MK boxes, using webfig, from mobiles, in which it's even worst!

Since the introducion of the FORCED inline comments on the webfig, we have asked, actually, the ability to CHOOSE which one to use, and not THIS or THAT being force-choosed for us :)

But because comments are now inline, I have no choice but to widen my browser to see longer comments. The problem isn't a matter of taste when comments exceed 10-15 chars. It's a matter of usability/readability.

I gather the vast majority of webfig users don't use long comments. The problem is enough of us do. For me, I use them a lot, particularly in routers where I have a lot going on and use them to remind myself why routing filters or interfaces are configured the way they are, and in some cases, I even store tidbits of filter "code" in the comments for comparisons or for backup/emergency purposes.

With the comments now inline, the bulk of the information is cut off. In order to read them, I have to click on the line(s) I want to read.

In the name of aesthetics, this ends up creating more work.

Similarly, but to a lesser extent, centering and grouping everything requires more eye/mouse travel, and obscures information that was previously immediately visible. For example, I frequently check 60GHz AP's for station status (why isn't there a separate table for 60GHz radios? And why isn't the name or MAC of the CPE associated with their signal strength, etc.?). With everything hidden under "Status", I've got to click more times to get to what I need.

I know this may come across as silly to some of you, but when your daily workflow is impacted by UI changes like this, these little things tend to add up.

Maybe you didn't actually upgrade, since since beta10 do not have "copy" routes anymore and BGP attributes are there for bgp vpn routes.

I like the inline comments in WebFig. It's saving me a lot of time scrolling. I ask that Mikrotik don't change this back.

Actually we have asked, earlier on this thread and on the 7.9 threads as well, to have the OPTION to choose inline or "newline" comments, just like the winbox has (and always had) the option to choose which one the user prefers.
Of course the problem is that webfig has no options at all. To have an option for such a thing, first the development has to be done to have options.
Once that is done, of course it would be trivial to have an option like on winbox. And lots of other options as well, such as selectable colums/width/order, hide/show password, etc.
But to add that to an in-house-developed web framework can be somewhat of a job. I think it is more complicated than implementing BFD.

As you can see from other commenters, who like it ... This is a matter of taste. How is "left aligned" in your big monitor not wasting space, but centering is wasting space? It is the same amount of wasted space, just in a different place. Do not use webfig in a maximised window on a ultrawide.
But because comments are now inline, I have no choice but to widen my browser to see longer comments. The problem isn't a matter of taste when comments exceed 10-15 chars. It's a matter of usability/readability.
I don't understand exactly what you guys are complaining about. When you open a table with comments you see the truncated comment, and when you hover the mouse over that it expands into the full comment in a separate pop-up.
Why do you have "no choice to widen"? Does this mouse-hover not work in your browser? I use Firefox and it works there.

It will be a great day when we can rely on built-in/native robustness of this and I can delete these scripts :)
Actually I haven't tested if the functionality has changed since early v7 betas (as my script works well for me so didn't need to check), so it would be good to have an answer to OP's question for better clarity

And while commenting, I want to throw in my 2c that inline comments are awesome, so rather an option should be provided in webfig to select preferred option, than revert to old style...
As much as I love winbox, it would be great if someday winbox and webfig are visually and functionally equivalent. This would preclude a need to develop a new winbox that is compatible with MacOS for instance, as we could all use a web app as a replacement for winbox. But right now there are still too many issues with webfig so I always use winbox where possible

I am using RoundRobin from the DNS and only restart the peer to have the next IP address to be resolved.

The retry itself was a longtime and many times requested feature and I am pleased that Mikrotik implemented this now.

As long as it fails to resolve, seems to me the way it will work. There is no max times mentioned so it keeps trying......

.....every retry counts as one instance and then it starts again as it was a new detection.

I said "No choice but to widen", as in, I have to widen my browser window, in response to Normis' statement to not widen the browser all the way on ultrawide monitors.

I was not aware of the tooltip, but that's still an extra step to see stuff I'm accustomed to seeing right up front. Tooltips aren't really useful on a phone or tablet, where I use webfig a ton, too.

Again, most people won't notice/don't care about the inline comments change, but when you're in and out of dozens of devices per day, trying to troubleshoot problems, comparing settings, routes, results, etc., any extra work required to find the information, be it mouse-overs or extra taps/clicks or drilling down through menus is time taken away from getting the work done, solving the problem, and restoring service. Every fraction of a second counts.

One example is the DHCP lease tables. I have scripts that go through each of my edge routers (20ish at present) and makes current leases static for use by UISP and traffic shaping. Sometimes I have the customer's full name in the comment field, but more often than not I pull the hostname from the DHCP request. Every single comment entry exceeds the column width, so I see 10 characters out of 20-40, whatever it is. Sure, I can widen the columns or mouseover, but I have to do that for each of my routers. And what might work for my desktop is too large for the laptop and way too much for my phone.

Just tested with mAP on 7.9.1.
Boot without ether1, no wireguard communication.
Insert ether 1. Still nada.
Toggle peer after a while, traffic starts flowing as expected with the bug as we know it.

Upgrade to 7.10b8
Boot without ether1, no wireguard comm (logical 🤦‍♂️).
Insert ether1, a couple of seconds and traffic starts flowing.
So yes, it seems they FINALLY solved that bug.

I would advise you to make (a couple of) API programs to retrieve and view information like that, this is so much more convenient than using webfig or similar!
I do that all the time, also for our Unifi WiFi system. The "modern GUI" environments are unreadable and unusable, but with API you can generate a page in the style you prefer, and it renders in 100ms instead of several seconds.

No, it's really not the same amount of wasted space, which I clearly showed on some pictures ( viewtopic.php?t=196061#p1002223 ). Please check that.

And again, for laptop users who works with no fix office most of the time, using an ultrawide monitor is really not an option.

I cant upgrade my hap ac2 from 7.10 beta 5 to beta 8, after reboot i get
router was rebooted without proper shutdown, probably kernel failure..

Because before it was possible to skim all the comments. Now one have to either widen the field or hover the mouse. Both are worse than the previous case.

And I say this as someone who liked the inline comments. But they DO have this problem.

Well I guess that with any change in any system there will be people claiming it is a problem because their niche use is now no longer possible...
I use a lot of comments, but as I have switched over to winbox quite some time ago (after initially using webfig because I use Linux and did not want to install Windows software), and I have used inline comments ever since then, my comments are always single-line and normally like 40 characters or less. They fit in the column that I allocate for it in winbox.
"general notices" go in the /system note section, where there is room for a lot of prose.

Hopefully MikroTik will develop the webfig framework a bit further, so it can use "site data" (storage for dynamic data from sites similar to cookies) and you thus have the equivalent of a winbox "session file" in webfig. That would open the possibility for user-settable options like "inline comments", "show passwords", "center forms" and of course selectable columns.

As an alternative to fix WebFib weirdness, the ViolentMonkey (or GreaseMonkey) might come in handy.

Since the layout in WebFig is quite strict in terms of table layouts and row order, it should be reasonably straightforward to create a function that realigns, resizes or removes comments according to your needs. Also, you might save per-table/session settings and stores them as cookies or in a session database much like Winbox.

OK, so after updating several routers to 7.9.1 during tonight's maintenance window, and then losing two AF60LR's this morning to a bad/failed firmware update procedure, I had to use my phone while in the field to get the replacement Wave LR's online. The routers at the two sites involved in the outage have 7.10b8 (was hoping to test BFD, but then read that it's for BGP-only, not OSPF), and I had to browse into them to verify the radio link had returned.

Anyway, the new mechanism for handling tables is horrible when used on a phone browser. I don't know if it's a scrollable DIV or an iframe or what (I haven't looked at the underlying HTML--not something you do while restoring from an outage), but I was having a heck of a time trying to zoom, then scroll to find the DHCP-assigned address for the new radio. Normally I can browse into any router or radio and move around the page with ease. But as of 7.10, something is screwy and that table slides back and forth under the items on the left, and pinch zooming is nigh impossible. Maybe I should just make a video of it.

Needless to say it was frustrating since it took 2-3x as long to accomplish the task today.

Bgp prefix count work now, not realtime but is ok for now.
Hope in 7.10, show bgp advertise also fixed.
Before both work i will not upgrade my production router.

When you have put files of your own on the device, remove them. When you have installed extra stuff like user-manager, remove it (move to some other device).
When you have done upgrade after upgrade, it may be required to do a netinstall. Export the config and download it beforehand, when you have a lot of special things on it.
When not, just netinstall it, put the defaults, and work from there.

I had another error login with WiFi on this 7.10beta8. It has been reported as SUP-116195. Mobile can not join WiFi mobile say the password is not correct and after reboot all is OK and mobile can join the WiFi without any chage. Im using only WPA/WPA2. I will go back to ROS7.8..

Did you do backup before the netinstall and restore afterwards? Don't do that!
Use export/import when you really need to transport some config. Better is to use default settings and do manual reconfig.
I have a hAP ac2 configured as an AP in bridge mode and it has about 1MB free. Still not a comfortable situation, of course!
16 mb flash chips should be cheaper than 32 mb. they count each and every penny
I think there is another issue at the 16MB boundary where going beyond that capacity requires extra I/O lines from the processor which may not be available because they are used for something else, e.g. LEDs or buttons.

This is dilema...ROS 7.9.1,ROS 7.10beta8 contains wifi bug which keeps mobile disconected but they also contains fix for CVE-2023-32154. I can only use 7.8 for stable wifi but without fix for CVE-2023-32154. MT please issue the fix as soon as possible.

In a reasonably configured ISP network, no device at all would require to receive RAs. If it uses that, it will get only a /64 and you will run into problems when routing a local network anyway.
(as demonstrated by the people here who write "my ISP gives me only a /64")
Even when you really need RA to get an IPv6 address from the ISP (or more correctly: the prefix and gateway), you still are not likely to be vulnerable because attacks would have to come from the ISP router itself, not the internet. And of course they could come from the devices on your LAN, because RA enable cannot be configured per interface.
So when you more or less can trust your own devices, the risk of attack is not very high, and for most people it can be zero when they did not tinker with their IPv6 settings.

How so?

One of ISPs around here are delivering internet "natively". So the router is configured to request a prefix using DHCPv6 client (ISP is handing out sensibly large /56 prefixes). And then router receives its upstream gateway via RAs (sent out by ISP's router; BTW, it's a link-local address as it should be). How would things work without the later? (Without relying on iffy "add default route" feature of MT's DHCPv6 client)?

Another ISP uses PPPoE and with that one reception of RAs is indeed not needed.

When using DHCPv6, the router can get its gateway via that. Nothing iffy about that. It does not need a RA receiver to receive a link-local address, that is assigned automatically derived from the MAC. The RA receiver is only required to set a global address on the link, which isn't required as you correctly indicate.
The only thing iffy is when routers are configured to get their default gateway both via PPPoE and DHCPv6. And unfortunately most "standard recipes on the internet" tell you to do that.

In v6 the BFD logged messages using the facility "bfd". So I added that to the logging to get informative messages about bfd dead link detection.
In the current version it does not seem to log anything, neither from bfd nor from bgp. I only see the lower uptime of the BGP session (and that only after hitting F5).
Please add some logging or document how logging can be enabled/seen in the current version.

I'm trying to find a reference to a document describing how DHCPv6 distributes gateway information ... but could not find any such document. The best I could find is some 10+ years old draft proposal for DHCPv6 extension which doesn't seem to be finished nor accepted as formal RFC.

First thanks for listening and actually responding to input. Now just do the same for zerotier Cloudflare tunnel as an options package! :-)

Does this replace the need for scripts, to keep wireguard running not stuck, in case the "Server" is in the middle of an IP change, or power interruption etc............ and its taking some time to resolve the IP address??

We noticed the same thing while running some lab tests. It doesn't have to be a detailed user guide, just a very brief summary would be enough to start with.
