I have ROS v7 on my device with the following connected devices:

ether1 - WAN1 (LTE) - distance=1
ether2 - WAN2 (Satellite) - distance=2
ether3 - LAN bridge
ether4 - LAN bridge
ether5 - LAN bridge

Right now, recursive route failover is working superbly. If WAN1 fails, within 20 seconds (2 pings), WAN1 is disabled and WAN2 takes over the default route. The trouble comes when WAN1 is up and down like a yo-yo thoughout the day. I live in a rural area and the LTE towers occasionally have intermittent backhaul problems during bad weather as backhaul happens via wireless links from our tower. What happens is it might work for 10 minutes, then fail, then be back on in 10 minutes time etc. so I'm constantly having to deal with it going down and back up and then down again for short spells.

What I'd really like to do is have a rule that says if WAN1 fails, it should be down for 30 minutes to an hour, rather than have it checked every 10 seconds. Is there a way to tweak the system to accomodate that? Thanks in advance!

I believe you can use netwatch to switch WANs and in there you may have the opportunity to have some flexibility...... ??

Thanks for the response, Netwatch looks fascinating. This is my first foray into Mikrotik devices in around 10 years so I have some reading to do haha. Thanks again, I'll post in here again if I need assistance, but on the surface it looks as though I could use it.
