Hi,

MikroTik NTP Client won't sync.
Message from log (ntp debug on):
Mar/08/2023 03:18:46 ntp,debug Checking peer (a.b.c.d). Peer is: NOT FIT, because rootDist(7.941359) > 1.000960

What is the problem and how to solve it ?
(Windows clients syncs correctly also SNTP Client from RoS v6 has no problem with it.)

This solution works when you implement it on the NTP server side. In the above solution, the w32time service in MS Windows is configured accordingly. Unfortunately, the problem I described concerns another NTP server to which configuration I don't have access. Ideally, you could configure the limit value of the rootDist parameter (> 1.000960) in the MikroTik NTP client so that it would accept time frames from such a server.

Tommmyz, you're right. In your case, either the administrator of the server you are using will change this parameter, or maybe (someday...) Mikrotik will add an option in the NTP client that allows you to change the unfortunate "rootDist (> 1.000960)" parameter to a higher one, e.g. 15 seconds ...
