Why do we use amplifiers 2.4 ghz ?

Sun Jan 27, 2008 5:28 pm

Hello,

I just heard from many people that they are satisfied using Amplifiers 2.4 ghz .. though 4 Watts can get more noise ..

I really appreciate if anyone can explain ...

Regards,

They are satisfied because they are making up for poor/no RF skills with high power amps.

Re: Why do we use amplifiers 2.4 ghz ?

let me think .. They are putting amps on AP bridge mode and aving more ap clients more than 50 clients .. how could it be safe ..

and assuming we are using rb532a with 48V 3.3 A ..

It can handle 2 mini pci wireless cards .. the first card is Pretty good but the second one is 400mW ... though first is up to 400mW , second is SR2 and I a mnot getting a true signal on 2.4 ghz .. is it because the board cant handle about 800mW or what do you think my solution could be ?

Thank you

Amplifier is almost never any good. It's just good marketing. Basically the only time when you would use an amplifier is when the signal is perfect and there is zero noise.

Hi Normis , at what situation we could get noise equal to zero ..

and I have one last question , I have rb532a with 2 min pci cards , first mini pci is NMP+ Up to 400mW but the second is SR2 ( 400mW ) the problem is that the second card or any card you put at second slot , you will not get performance .. for the first card I have only 43 ap clients connected to my rb532a and the SR2 only has 3 customers and they are not so far only few meeters .. WHy ?
