I have an ancient RB450G that I have tried to update to ROS7. First, I updated to ROS6 via the web interface and that all went well but I couldn't access the web interface after the upgrade. The login screen was the same as the original version and when I tried to log in, I got an Error 501 message.
I could still login via Winbox so I used winbox to upgrade to ROS7 which, again, all wend fine. The web interface is still giving me an Error 501 when trying to log in and I would like to fix this.
The common fix seems to be to boot the router into Etherboot mode and use Netinstall to put a fresh copy of ROS7 on. I would love to do this but it seems that my RB450G simply refuses to go into Etherboot mode! Holding down the reset button then applying power while keeping the reset button held does nothing. All if the LED stay solid and the router just boots into normal mode. I have also tried using /system routerboard settings set boot-device=try-ethernet-once-then-nand from the terminal that rebooting the router but again, it just seems to boot into normal mode!
Am I doing something wrong here? I would love to give this old 450G a new life but really want to get it running with everything 100%.
Matt.
