Hi all,
I have a need to setup a singular subnet (10.100.0.0/24) across multiple MikroTik routers that are geographically located in different places. I have been running this setup for a long time and we already have Site-To-Site connectivity setup over OVPN and have countless subnets, vLANS, etc. Everything is working without any issue.
The Why
To establish a VOIP phone system where the recommended method of implementation is to use a singular subnet everywhere.
I have the 10.100.0.0/24 network setup on the new vLAN on the home router called voip-vlan and it successfully has assigned an IP address to a device tagged on a switch without any issue. This device in question is the device that will be controlling all of the VOIP phones handling setup, etc.
The question is what is the best way to apply that across numerous site locations?
My first test is with Site-B whereas I went ahead and plugged the VOIP device directly into ETH-2 and removed this device from the bridge. I tried setting up a DHCP Relay and apply it to Eth-2 so that in theory it would receive the DHCP instructions from Site-1 and carry it down to the device.
This is where I am a little outside of my knowledge zone and thus far information I can find has not been exceptionally helpful.
Could you please advise? I will keep digging into it as well but I am sure I am overlooking a better way of doing this.
Thanks!
