Mon Dec 18, 2023 1:37 am

Am I missing something here - Can I config a CRS310-8G+2S+IN to be a router? or is there something in it that its only a switch?

It can be but its worth noting its more for switching if you take a look here Spec Sheet you will see it can do routing but will get around 500Mb/s throughput

Hi, see attached file.
You can find all Block Diagrams ins the download tab of the product page on mikroitk.com
You can use it for both, but there are limitations for routing purpose, as the interfaces are not directly connected to the CPU.

Quite clearly its designed as a switch!

Expect routing WAN throughput between 100-200 Mbps, this is a fantastic choice with up to a 115.2K beebop dial-up modem. :-)

The only reason a person would get this device for routing is if they stole it. :-)
