Up 200 CAP

Sat Apr 06, 2024 11:51 pm

I have completed this work:
over 2OO internal and external AP-ACs all wired in fiber optics 9/125. 3x vlan: wifi guest(VLAN100), wifi management(VLAN200), wired voip(VLAN50).
CCR1016, CRS318, RBD22UGS-5HPacD2HnD, RBwsAP-5Hac2nD, RBcAPGi-5acD2nD, SFP+
Suggestions to give me? Thank you

Write a blog post about the DO's and DONT's you experienced while setting this up so that others can learn from your experience and maybe even prevent them from making the same mistakes you did. F.e. how did you implement routing and authentication?

Installation & Config is 1 aspect, actual operational performance another.
What type of installation-environment ? Industrial ? School ? Stadium/venue ?

keep calm!!! :D :D :D :D
Installed in a village-hotel with around 180 rooms.
Main settings that I recommend:
1) Powers tx at 10/16 dBm,
2) Access-list reject range -120..-85
3) All powered by 48volt Poe
4) Every 4 Access points (rooms) are configured 2x 5Ghz and 2x 2.4 Ghz on different channels with Provisioning > identity regexp. Example Room1/1 "AP1", Room1/2 "AP2", Room1/3 "AP3", Room1/4 "AP4".... Room2/1 "AP1", Room2/2 "AP2", etc.
5) Importantly, before installing I reset the APs to Caps Mode, recorded all the mac addresses and softwareIDs, and assigned them by room and installed position, in excel file.
And blonde  ..... beer

...
1) Powers tx at 10/16 dBm,
- 180 rooms and 200 APs? Does that mean that every room has a single AP, how big are those rooms?!
- How did you decide on 10/16 dBm?

Well, think twice. pornhub is one of the most visited websites worldwide. I guess it even ranks higher in "bedrooms". 🤣
