Just an FYI, I was having issues with LAN machines getting time from the mikrotik router even though the NTP server was enabled. I had the time update enabled under IP > cloud, but apparently that only updates the time for the router and does not translate to the router being able to send time to the LAN. I had to enable the NTP client on the router before the NTP server would serve time. I disabled the time update under IP > cloud.

Of course, the router has to get its time from an upstream router and hence a client ....
The server part is to the LAN side.
Depending upon input chain rules, one may have to add port 123 .........

Right. I wrongly assumed that it could use the time provided by the Mikrotik cloud sync to provide time via NTP for my network. I just thought I'd make a post to help others in case they also made the same assumption.

Timing service, provided by "cloud", is inaccurate and only good enough for logs to show almost sensible time. It far too inaccurate to serve as source for NTP. It also doesn't offer information about stratum (which is integral part of NTP server selection, done by clients).
