Mikrotik support contract

Tue Apr 12, 2005 3:40 am

hey all .

since alot of q&a goes without a response . is MT better at email support on there service contract.

want answers like yesterday on somethings . not that the forum is bad it does answers some selective q&a but allot of the nebee's seem to be ignored . i know alot more now but it was a hard road to get here.

or maybe we should start a paying forum where q&a would get higher prioity then the no paying forum users..

just a thought.

Yeah, I've notice that a lot of introductory questions go unanswered also, and I've even skipped a few of them myself. If I had to guess at why that happens, my guess would be that MT expects people to have a good fundimental knowledge of networking and to have read the manual. Questions that demonstrate a lack of that knowledge get skipped over, they aren't here to teach people what a router is, they're here to answer the harder questions that come up. Sometimes those questions get answered by other people who know the answer and have a few spare minutes, but I wouldn't count on that happening all the time.

Yeah, that's harsh, but until somebody publishes "Router O/S for Dummies" and we can point people at it, people should be prepared to figure out things for themselves. Failing that, I do believe there are some consultants lurking around here that would be happy to exchange their knowledge for your money. :)

forum is not a place of official MT support, it all depends on other users whether you get an answer or not - this is a user to user forum after all. occasionally you can expect someone from mikrotik to answer, but this is absolutely not guaranteed.

if you have problems, of course - contact support, and before doing it, read the instructions: http://www.mikrotik.com/support.html
