hotspot logout question

Fri Apr 04, 2008 10:54 pm

Hello all.....

first: i configured the hotspot without user manager.
my goal is, if a user has logged in it is not possible for him to logout. so i deleted the logout.html page. but there is no reason.
is there a way to deny users logout??

thanks

using winbox, go to: IP >> Hotspot >> User-Profile
change the keepalive timeout to the desired time. for example: 5d 00:00:00
this will keep the user logged in for 5 days.

But, be aware that if a user tried to login from another PC (and if no shared users , or more than one user is able to share the same account) then the user will not be able to login as the system will recognized that the same user is already online and using the service. At that time you have to disconnect the user manually or to allow multi-shared users (for example 2 users).

But .. why you are looking for that !!!

thanks, but it´s not working.
if i do a http://<hotspotip>/logout the user still logs out from the hotspot system

i´m looking for that because i want to sell hotspot tickets for example for 24hours.
if the user loggs in for the first time, the couter schould count backwards for this time and the user schould not be able to logout.

so if i buy a 24 hour ticket, i have 24hours from the first time i loginin in one piece.

That possible using the User-Manager.

Also -using the hotspot- you'll face another problem, is to start the counter from the time the user logged in (not from the time you create the user). This is solved also in the user-manager where you the session will be started from the first log in if you need.

As far as I know, it is not possible to disable logout function.
There is no need for this.
so if i buy a 24 hour ticket, i have 24hours from the first time i loginin in one piece.
It is possible with User-Manager without login function, here is description how it is possible to achieve, that user is able to login within 24 hours,
