upgrading from 6.49.17 to 7.12.1

Thu Jan 02, 2025 1:36 pm

Hi, just upgraded my RB1100AHx4 from 6.49.17 to 7.12.1 and had a few issues that I thought I might share in case anyone had similar issues.

Here is what I found:

1. Dropped the Internet> Gateway setting to 0.0.0.0 (go to Quick Set to fix)

2. Changed the IP Address Interface to ether2 from ether 1 (go to IP>Address List and double click on the network address to set the interface)

3. Don't forget to upgrade the Dude Client to match the new version

4. Upgrade the bootloader to match the new version (go to System>Routerboard and click on upgrade)

Hopefully this post might help someone having similar issues.

Cheers MickDD

sure if you do it thru the router, will take you to 7.12 first, if you do it manually go to 7.12 first, then 7.16.2.

Another change I found:

Renames the file structure from "disk1/" to "sata1-part1/" so if you run any commands/scripts/etc that specify a file path (i.e. running backups or restoring from backups) you may need to check file paths and update them.
