Strange Connection problems :(

Wed Apr 20, 2005 9:51 am

Ok, how many people here are running pppoe on their highsites and also keep getting random disconnections between the client and the highsite?

I have 2 clients, who both have good signals. Now regardless of the highsite load, weather conditions, they still lose their connections. I know that its something invloving the pppoe servers, so is there any way to remedy this or do I have to wait for the routerOS 2.9?

I am having similar problems with only certain clients. Some clients are fine and have connection times in excess of 200 hours, others are fine if they are not moving any traffic but as soon as they do anything other than opening a web page, their connection drops and they reconnect. In many cases this will hang large downloads.

I have MTU/MRU set to 1380/1360 (in order for the pppoe login to work this was the lowest common denominator). I have played witht the keepalive settings on the client side routers to no avail. Signal strength don't seem to have any impact as the clients that stay connected have lower signal strengths than some of the clients with issues.

Thanks for any help
