PPPoE troubleshhoting

Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:54 pm

Hi all,
I'm using MT as Access Concentrator with wireless users, whose CPEs authenticates on MT on its PPPoE server.
I'm having plenty disconnections from the pppoe server, but the strange thing is that disconnection take place also if I can reach CPEs on their IP address. In my understanding, this means that wireless connection is ok (physical layer), IP level is ok (network layer) but there is something wrong with broadcast (data link layer).
Is there a way to do a step-by-step troubleshooting on PPPoE in order to fix the problem? I've tried both MTU/MRU @ 1496/1460 bytes... :?

Thanks,
Rgds

hi dear we are using this pppoe server ,,,ur problem is that ur link and client are connected with ur network but
client disconnected with pppoe server right ?

in this u there is one possibility is that
1. u use Centralize Access Point and at other side access point client \\\ right...

if this situation then at client side client pc mac address is not come to our pppoe server but client get ur wireless
client mac address.so when one customer connected with this wireless client , customer will connected ,but when same time
other customer try to connected from this same wireless client then ur server has already same host(mac) user in server so thats y ur server disconnect this connected client.

so u have not select one session per host

Thank you Kamal,
if I correctly understood, your idea is that if "one session per host" is enabled and many clients arrives at PPPoE server with the same MAC address (because they are behindand AP), it will allow only one of them to be authenticated. I've checked my settings, "one session per host" is not enabled and MAC client address (PPPoE requests) are all different...
