133/c initial configuration

Fri May 23, 2008 12:44 am

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am trying to configure an RB 133/c to route traffic to and from the AP shown below. The steps I took to configure the RB 133/c are listed here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24130

While using Winbox I can easily connect to the AP and ping it's IP address but I am unable to ping the AP from the PC I have connected to the ethernet port of the 133/c. I I am making a rookie mistake but I cannot get traffic to route through the interfaces.

So you have:

PC--> RB133C ===w===> Other brand AP

?

And you can connect to the RB, and from the RB you can ping the AP, but from the PC you can't ping the AP? In that case either there is a problem with IP addresses, or your masquerade rule is set up incorrectly. In the Masq rule you should only set chain "src-nat", out-interface, and action=masquerade, basically nothing else should be in that rule.

Normis, thanks for your help. I finally got it working properly after upgrading to RouterOS 3.9 and following the guide while verifying each step. I am just getting acquainted with Mikrotik and I'm loving it just about as much as I am hating it (which is a good thing). This forum has answered many questions I've had in the past and if anyone is having trouble initially configuring a RB133/C3 let me know and I will try to help. ( ( :) ) )
