Domian controller on other network... Need help loggin in??

Mon Jul 14, 2008 4:36 am

I just setup a network with a couple of RB600s to do ospf routing across a couple wireless links I have. I have the routing all setup but is there a way to forward traffic so my machines on the network without my domain controller will be able to login? I know routers wont do this by default, will I have to setup firewall rules to forward these packets? Thanks

What we did is place a DC in the "remote" location.
(You should inform AD about this configuration)

The DCs will update each other via settings in the AD configuration...

Works MUCH better than trying to forward the "AD" traffic generated by every workstation.

The ADs will keep each other updated..

make sure the DNS server on your remote network is pointing to your AD server on the primary network. It won't login otherwise.

Good Point..

Also with DHCP you can assign MANY doamin attributes that will maks AD more stable and quicker.
