Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me. I am unable to traceroute a domain name (google.com) using WinBox. I attached a pic of my config, I am trying to use OpenDNS's DNS server (208.67.222.222). I am able to traceroute to the DNS server I configurated (208.67.222.222) but not a domain name. Here are the IP address and routes I assigned after resetting all previous configuration:
PC Router (RouterOS 3.9)
IP addresses
Ether1: 71.67.136.88 /20 (DHCP client attached to modem)
Ether2: 10.0.0.1 /16
Routes................................Destination...............Gateway..............Pref. Source
Ether1:...............................0.0.0.0 /0.................71.67.128.1...........................
Ehter1:...............................71.67.128.0 /20...................................71.67.136.88
Ether2:...............................10.0.0.0/16........................................10.0.0.1.......
Firewall:(Chain:srcnat, Out.Int:Ether1, Action:Masquerade)
Also, under the menu (IP>DNS) I have added a DNS server (208.67.222.222) and in the DNS (settings) menu I changed the primary DNS server to OpenDNS's primary server.
In an effort to pin down the problem I connected a host computer to the ether2 interface and assigned it an IP address (10.0.0.2). When I add the DNS server address (208.67.222.222) the host can access the internet and the Winbox can traceroute google.com. When I delete the DNS server address I cannot do either of the above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. (I changed my Public IP address)
